First my bust out hand:

I was very unlucky all day and was down to 38k for the following hand. Blinds 500-1000 with a 100 ante the cut off makes it 2500. On the button I have AQ. I'm not folding the hand if I re-raise, so I decide to do something slightly tricky to possibly get Doug "ToolBox" Lee to make a big boo boo.
The guy put in two yellows (1000 each) and a baby blue (500) chip for 2500. After deliberating, I throw in two yellows, and a green 25,000 chip. Doug starts commentating and looks suspicious, so I spread my two yellow chips in front of me to take a closer look at the other chip. I say nothing.
He goes, "I think you made a mistake. You didn't mean to do that." Again, I say nothing, finally he goes all in, the first guy folds, and I'm essentially ALREADY all in having to call 10,000 more.
Doug turns over... get this... 33!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA that is so funny to me! Even if I DID make a mistake, I could easily have 66, or a hand like J-10 which puts him in a coin flip at best. Flop is Q-5-4... 3.... A and I'm out just like that ...

Its funny even Negreanu calls him toolbox.

All in with 33 when Negreanu has like 20% of his stack behind & still original raiser to act, what a genius...Doug thought thug thoughts though, although dog dug the dough

Im a heeooch DN fan, but in all honesty that was pretty terrible move from him, to try to trick a donkey into shoving when u r holding AQ, I didnt get that. Would have been a nice play if he has aces, kings or possibly queens, but AQ wtf? Could anyone page DN? Would love to hear his reasoning there.

That changes nothing, with AQ u usually dont want a caller, unless its dominated, but its most definitely not a hand to trick people into calling ldo. The only way I could possibly think u would want a marginal call in that spot is if u r severely outclassed by the rest of the table, but Im sure thats not the case with DN.

I touched down in Vegas on saturday evening, and went to the Rio to register for a couple of tournaments. In front of me as I'm going to register is Johnny Chan, and I get all giddy. Then I'm walking down the hall and see Phil Ivey, give him a nod. So far I'm very starstruck. Then TJ Cloutier whizzes past me on his scooter and I jump up in the air in delight at seeing the guy who inspired my TJ Cookier avatar on stars. I see a bunch of names and I'm very very excited, but I keep things in check, because these guys are people too, and it's not really very cool of me to go up to all these guys who probably get enough attention as it is. There, it's my resolution! I shall not bother these guys.

Then I see Doug Lee, and I'm all 'ooooh sheeeeit I gotta get a photo', run up to him and say 'Hey, aren't you Doug Lee? I'm pretty sure I've seen you on TV? Can I get a photo?' and promptly turn round and ask a bemused Gavin Smith to get a photo of us.



Short of winning a bracelet this will definitely be the highlight of my trip

Wazz: you were too nice to him IMO, Im not saying you shoulda kicked his ass but maybe something along the lines of "why is that so many people says you are a giant toolbox?" then he will say people envy his success yada yada so you can say "but there are many players much more successful than you, and nobody calls them toolbox, why is that?..."
