Doug Lee Walking the "Straight" and Narrow
Preflop, Doug Lee raised to 500 and his opponent in the big blind called. The flop of was checked to Lee and he bet out 200. His opponent then raised to 1,500. Lee went into the tank for a bit and said, "flush draw or something." Lee then made the call.

The turn fell the , and his opponent bet out 3,000. Lee then raised to 7,000 total and said, "How do you like that for your flush draw?" Lee's opponent then went into the tank and thought for several minutes. Finally, Lee called the clock on his opponent. After the floor came over, Lee's opponent made the call.

The river fell the and both players checked.

Lee showed for the nut straight. His opponent showed for a set. After the hand, Lee moved up to 31,100 chips.
Way to make the minimum Doug!

I'm surprised he didn't stand and say "I worked you!' afterwards

Well, well well, very interesting.

After an incident in the ME today with this man, I searched the internet for "Doug Lee cheat," and was not surprised to see this guy has a history.

I could not quite believe what went down in the Main Event today...

Massive pot in just the third level, where the two chip leaders at the table are Doug Lee, who has only been there twenty minutes but already seems like an idiot, and an inexperienced Mexican guy. The board on the turn is 7653, and the Mexican makes a big overbet of 11,000.

Lee thinks and thinks; the Mexican is inexperienced and shows his cards to me and his other neighbour- 98 for the nut straight! As I'm praying for action, Lee says "OK then, let's go," takes hold off all his chips, and moves them about 2 inches forward. Admittedly his chips were behind his cards, which may save him from this being binding?

He gets what he wants; the Mexican lurches forward, and he is able to muck. The Mexican does not realise what an angle has just been shot, so I call the floor in disgust. Doug Lee looks worried, but thanks to a clueless dealer now amazingly has picked up both his and the Mexican's cards, and thrown them into the muck.

I am still adamant that Lee has made a verbal declaration all-in, but unfortunately our floor man is as clueless as the dealer. By now, he goes with the easier option, which is to say "next hand," and let Lee off BIG style. It was a difference of about 31,000 in chips, massive at that stage.

As I and a couple of others demand a second opinion, Lee bullies the floor staff by saying "it's over, it's over" and handing the deck of cards to the dealer. Just ridiculous.

What do you reckon? Should his action be binding? Whether it is or not, he was shooting a massive angle, and KNEW it. A pathetic man.

Completely True and Awesome Doug Lee Story Number One. Doug Lee gets moved to the seat next to me in one of the first two events of the WSOP. Despite being seated only eighteen inches from me, he raises his voice loud enough for the whole table to hear and says: "We've seen each other on TV before, right?" Swear he said that.

Completely True and Awesome Doug Lee Story Number Two. Earlier tonight after the Level 2 break in Main Event Day 1D I start back to my seat and bump into Doug who is completely fixated on an overhead monitor. I nod to him as I pass. From the look on his face I can tell that he barely remembers meeting me earlier in the Series, but he engages me anyway.

Doug Lee: "You know I should be around 5th or 6th in chips..."

Me: "Huh?"

Doug Lee (pointing up to the current leaderboard of the day's "known" players): "I'm only listed at 11 but I took a bad beat for about fifteen thousand, they should have me higher."

I look up at the board and see that Doug Lee is listed in 11th place for the day so far with 44,000 chips. But he was annoyed because he thought they should record what his chip count would be if he hadn't lost the chips he lost in the bad beats he suffered. Hilarious.

I'm the "other neighbor" in this hand and Doug Lee's conduct during the whole incident was ridiculous. Setting aside the ruling by the floor who first arrived (who happened to be a floor for the Live Action and should not have been making any decisions bearing on the tourney), at least five other floors came over at one point or another. Four of the five said Doug Lee should have been ruled all in. Then the tournament director came over and said his ruling would have been that Doug was all in.

Cost the mexican guy 31k chips as he had the nuts at the time.

Yes. He stiffed the guy too. Told him to come back after the next break for a second session and said he'd pay him then. When he busted the tourney, he left without leaving cash for the guy (who came looking for him several times).

All in all a classy guy. /sarcasm

Next time he uses that damn "Oh yeh, you saw me on TV line" you've gotta start some sort of argument that actually you saw him on some daytime soap a few years ago, or better yet, in cheap, blurry, small porn. It pains me to see him get any attention that doesn't involve him getting ripped on.

Even though the massage folks are independent contractors...can't they go to floor/security to have him tracked down or something?
