does prahlad attempt disgusting angleshot at WSOP?

wow, anyone catch that?

basically a guy puts prahlad all-in on the river. the guy ends up calling the clock on prahlad (HUGE 100k+ pot at like 250/500 blinds).

prahlad proceeds to wait until the clock is between 0 and 1 and softly says he calls.

his opponenet flips up the 9J for top two pair.

prahald quietly throws his hand into the muck.

the floor rules it as a fold.

here's the kicker. if his opponent flips up a hand that prahlad beats, you know damn well prahald is gonna be all over the floormen declaring that he called.

I think it was completely obvious that prahald waited till the VERY end because he knew he could angle the outcome in his OWN favor depending on whether he had the winning hand or losing hand.

Link to hand in question.

Totally thought the same thing, was an absolute angle shoot. If he beat the hand, would've turned his cards over or better yet, if that dog dude mucked Prahlad would've won hand.

Remember the all-in button that players were given in 2006? Maybe there should be a call button as well.

-stop hoarding attention to yourself.

-Not a disgusting angleshot imo. Floor called it dead. He mucked. Lucky? Yes

I have repeatedly written that in no limit games, verbal declarations of any sort should not count.

I think they heard it, they just ruled that he didn't call in time.

It's the same reason you get a contract in writing. Cameras can't capture a verbal declaration, just like you can't prove a contract exists unless you have proof. Using verbal declarations as binding arguments are like using hearsay in court as your main evidence.

Apart from the fact that the tournament director views time as discrete 12-increment intervals, where evidently any time from t=0 to t=5 is close enough to rule a hand dead.

As well as "all-in" sharing it's phonetic sounds with "callin" "ballin" "saw it" etc...
If verbal statements are binding, they should change the phrase "all-in" to "orange" or "month" or something else with fewer rhyming words.

But I digress...

Re: prahlad attempts disgusting angleshot at WSOP

It didn't seem like an angleshot at all. Does anyone agree?
