On an upcoming Poker After Dark Ivey, Durr, Hansen, Negreanu, and Hellmuth play a high stakes cash game. Before the cash game started each player put in $100,000 and flipped for it (minus Hellmuth, he refused). Each are dealt 2 cards and they simply run it out!!! So sick. Negreanu also talks about why Hellmuth isn’t good enough to be playing a cash game against the other players at that table.

Hellmuth is a NLHE tournament player. He has no business playing in a high-stakes cash game.

I couldn't get over how douche, and how condescending he was towards the interviewers. Saying things like he doesn't have a weak game and how he was wasnt tilting on high stakes poker, just cause he wasnt shoving everyhand, i think im in a good spot where i can critique is NL play, and he no doubt made a few very fundemental mistakes on highstakes poker but is ego is just 2 big to admit it. He so wants to be part of the elite poker players, the ivey, antonius , durr but he just isnt. Hes a great Nl player but he makes me think of hellmuth alot the way he talks about is game.

Im ready to put 300-500k he cannot beat a 10-20nl game online. and prob like 100k on a 5-10nl game.
I think the truth is hes a great great tournament player, probably is good in other games, but would be a dog in a bunch of nl cash games

I'm not sure about this, but I thought Negreanu does pretty well in the Vegas cash games.

Hes done well in the mix game on a very limited sample, Why is it so hard for him to say hes a dog in a nl game. Or that is weakest game is nl cash. Or that hes just not that sharp because he doesnt play much of it and hes totally outclassed by pa, ivey,durr etc.... I have no idea how he plays in horse games so i cannot comment. But what i do remember a few years ago he was all excited about challenging the best online players in a online setting, well that didnt last long , lost 300k to antonius and then he never mentionned challenging the online guys anymore. I dont know why im wasting my time responding to this thread but i just dont think it was right the way he came accross to the interviewers.

Negreanu has a lot of experience, and he makes really good reads. Why do you think he hasn't done as well as Ivey, Dwan, and PA, when it comes to cash games?

This. While he did get unlucky in a few spots on high stakes poker, he seriously spewed money in way too many other marginal spots. The fact that he cannot admit to that is just beyond me. I really wonder if its the whole "I dont want to get bluffed on TV" thing.. or just bad play.

Funny how the great's never have to talk about how great they are or how bad anyone else is.

Negraneau is very good at what he does, tournaments. I also i hate when he calls and no idea what the guy had and then say things like oh i thought you had that

At least Hellmuth is up on HSP and has won a few PAD. Negraneu clearly overrates himself
