Disgraceful Decision by Jack Effel to Stop Play 2 From Money
The $1500 PLHE event just ended play for the night 2 eliminations away from the money. Despite overwhelming support for playing until reaching the money from the players and the staff present on the scene, Jack Effel, sitting at home, ordered play to stop.
This decision shows a blatant disregard for the paying customers of the WSOP. First of all, people want to play tomorrow's event. Additionally, making shortstacks come back to play another day to bubble immediately is just cruel.
The best way to remedy this is to pay all the players who are still in the event and to take the money for the two additional places directly out of Jack Effel's paycheck. IMO.

I agree, this is just bad decision making.

I was there. Basically everyone wanted to play it out. I guess they want a few less people in the $1500 tomorrow.

Did play get stopped as it was originally scheduled to?
If so, it seems like the right decision. The scheduling of the tournament shouldn't be changed because of how close they are to a certain # of eliminations.

Yeah, this. Unless literally every single person in the tournament wants to stop, it shouldn't be stopped. They can't just change the schedule on a whim.

Not there and have no info, but if I was a shorty, and had to come back and play a few hands, only to not get paid, I would be a bit pissed.

Because people make plans and everyone agrees on the schedule when they enter the tournament. If someone got screwed over because the tournament took an extra 2 hours because the bubble took forever, that isn't fair at all. They shouldn't be subjected to playing another two hours when they planned on being out of there by 12:30 at the latest or whatever it was.
