Does every guy Erica Schoenberg hook up with go broke?

So how much did you lose, OP?

Never shame a man for going broke. Money is only a tool that aids one in life. The only accumulation that matters is that of inner discipline and the detached stillness that comes with it. That inner stillness will be the only thing of value one has when facing death. Few things accumulate inner stillness more than a lifetime of poker play... win or lose.

Oh. I see what OP did there. You see, the person in the picture, well, his name is David Benyamine a well known high stakes cash game player from TV. Now, what OP did here was insert the word 'Degen in place of Benya because it kind of ryhmes, plus the fact that degan is short for degenerate, so, coupled with the fact that David is seen playing at a much smaller stake that he's famous for, OP saw this as a great opportunity to start a thread here and kick a man while he is presumably? down.
Stay classy OP

Uhhhh if you have payed any attention to poker for the last decade he has been called Degenyamine a million times by everyone. I doubt he is going to lose any sleep over it. I am sure Degenyamine is super pumped to have you as his champion white knight though. Sir Sarcastic! Is dinner at your house or his tonight?

He is very well known for being a degenerate. He is probably the biggest degen TV poker pro there is. He is also, probably, well aware of how much of a degenerate he is. The truth doesn't hurt people who are honest with themselves.

+1 to this.

Whether David is just messing around or is truly cash strapped is really not the business of anyone other than himself. That said, if the OP's assumption is correct, why someone would take pleasure in another man going broke is beyond me.

There are some sick people out there who truly just wish misery and pain on everyone, and unfortunately far too many of them post on 2+2. I've even watched people on here encourage others who go broke to commit suicide, which is especially despicable.

Truly can't imagine how hard it is to move down in stakes like that and be able to play your "A" game. Literally saw him in Bobby's Room playing 1.5k-3k less than a year ago.

He's sitting at a poker table with chips and a chick that is younger and semi-cute. Life could be much worse.

Looks like he is balling out of control, wearing a pimp hat, accompanied by a nice looking lady friend, chewing on a fresh mint. A little double up pays for the nights entertainment. Life could not be better.

All the best Degenjamin!

Looks like he lost weight and got a more attractive girlfriend now.
Of course, I know that the average nvg-poster only gains weight, never has a gf, and never overcomes his brokeness and social anxiety to make the move to live-poker.
It's absolutly standard to sit in a smaller game, while waiting to play your usual stakes in a casino. He most likely has set his name on whatever higher stakes often run there, and decided to play some smallstakes to warm-up, and kill some waiting-time.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
