wow are you kidding me? his cards were pinched in between his fingers, it was impossible that the two cards that were ultimately exposed by the dealer were anything other than the two cards roland was playing in this hand. lol @ "his hand was as dead as possible." like, whats really blowing my mind about your post is it isnt like this was some story that was recounted -- there is a video! we can watch it! pretending like theres even a 1% chance the exposed cards werent roland's is just being silly and dishonest.

Anyway, no idea why RDW cares if everyone sees his hand. It's not like the whole table doesn't know he has air when he doesn't want to show his hand anyway.

As far as the other guy, I mean it's possible he thought he might have the best hand with a Q high FD and RDW had a smaller FD without a pair but it seems more likely he saw Roland muck to a river call earlier.
and yeah, you're right, maybe they do have a line rule, i don't know. i've personally never heard of a line rule w/r/t mucked cards (as opposed to betting), but maybe this place has one. but if so, thats a pretty absurd rule that isn't followed by the vast majority of poker rooms/TDs around the world.

and yeah obviously roland is being a clown by not just opening his hand. live pros have some obsession with playing this stupid game at every showdown to see who gets to open their hand last. its dumb. but it doesnt mean he should lose this pot.

The best hand was not awarded the chips. That's what it comes down to as stupid as Roland was. Any rule where that can be the case has something wrong with it imo. As I already said rules should be there to ensure fairness.

incorrect we all abide by that ruling so it would be unfair to everyone who follows and understands this rule, shows their hand or mucks it. It's actually quite fair

The dealer TRIED to prevent him from mucking. But he was so embarrassed about his play that he forcibly pushes his cards under dead cards in the muck.
He made a play, it didn't work (well, it kinda did) now show your cards and say nice call.

I think its hilarious but Tobias did act like a bit of a tool.

Re: de Wolfe vs random EuroDonk @ EPT Barcelona

I don't play live but I'm surprised if this isn't at least an angle shoot. Reinkemeier calls, RDW shows enough of a hand to beat him, Reinkemeier should then muck, imo. It would help if I could make out what the players were saying to each other, or understand the interview, but by not mucking, Reinkemeier claims to be able to beat the K. RDW does himself no favours by not showing both obv, but Reinkemeier doesn't just know he's beaten, he has been shown that he is beaten, and should muck. Reinkemeier is essentially claiming to be able to beat a hand that he cannot, simply by not mucking. So RDW mucks, or tries to.

e: By not mucking he is effectively declaring a hand that he does not have, surely?

But again, I don't play live, and should probably stfu.

Even if Tobias wins the hand correctly, what is the general consensus of his actions from an etiquette point of view?

Is talking your opponent into mucking the best hand wrong?
