Re: de Wolfe vs random EuroDonk @ EPT Barcelona
meh no way roland should have lost that ruling. obviously every tournament has the right to have its own rules, and i dont know what the rules are here, and im sure the td knows them better than i do, but he not only opened his K before it touched the muck (so that there was never any question who had the winning hand), the dealer forcibly prevented him from mucking his hand, took the hand and opened it. that is not a muck.

Good question, that's exactly what I was thinking?
I think Roland's cards were mucked but the dealer made a mistake by flipping them over - unless there is a rule that if you show one card, you have to show both?

AFAIK there isn't a room in the world where showing one card = showing your hand.
He could have king hobgoblin for all we know

poker is exploiting the dumb behaviour of your tablemates imo, if roland cant turn around his cards he donīt deserve the pot
but as said before: the acting afterwards is jerkish...

Re: de Wolfe vs random EuroDonk @ EPT Barcelona
Bad ruling imo it was clear Roland had the winning hand. The dealer stopped him mucking and he had shown a king.
Rules should be there to ensure fairness. there was nothing fair about that ruling.

of course not, but what i'm saying is the combination of the fact that we know he has the Kc AND the fact that the dealer stops him from mucking his hand and exposes the Kc along with the 8x.. like there's simply no question he had the best hand, was prevented from mucking, and should be awarded the pot. doing anything else is just idiotic and is a terrible ruling. obviously if he was actually allowed to muck his hand after exposing the Kc then things would be different. but he was stopped, his cards were not ambiguous/indeterminable, and his hand should be live.

lol r u srs? his cards were totally obvious in the muck, they were even under other cards. no doubt his hand was as dead as possible.

Just re-watched it and dealer does stop him but not until after it was over the line/in the muck. Retrievable? Yes, but it seems they have the line rule over there.
Anyway, no idea why RDW cares if everyone sees his hand. It's not like the whole table doesn't know he has air when he doesn't want to show his hand anyway.
As far as the other guy, I mean it's possible he thought he might have the best hand with a Q high FD and RDW had a smaller FD without a pair but it seems more likely he saw Roland muck to a river call earlier.
