even with the chip disadvantage - Ivey will have a massive advantage - since it'll be just another day at the office - AND he'll still be playing poker most days between now and then - meanwhile - those amateurs won't have been paid yet (I assume) - and I guess will have to go back to their regular jobs.
Darvin Moon would seem to fit the bill of a luckbox and amateur. At least according to him.

Last year Dennis Phillips played that roll. From what I have heard he worked hard on his game during the off time and from the coverage I saw it did not do him much good.

I expect Darvin will dance with the one that brought him. If he continues to get strong cards he'll win but I'd bet on a final table flame out.

so awesome, so awesome.
It's a friggin sit-and-go at this point, dude. He's got a 20% edge at most on the field given that he's already short and has limited strategic options. If you haven't noticed, these players are willing to get the money in the middle. He's gonna have to win several preflop all-ins, period, to even get within hailing distance of the bracelet.

I'm rooting for him. But it's throwing your money away to take whatever ridiculous 6-1 line the books get action on.

Re: Day 8 Main Event Thread

I would not bet him to win.

Rumor has it, that he plans to sit back and nusre his short stack in order to get 6th place money.

Does FTP need to sponsor anyone else at the final table? i dont think so. I was also holding my breath when i saw the update. So awesome
Perfect promotion for full tilt, impossible for pokerstars to match it

Okay, the real question is who's gonna make all the masturbating daffy duck t-shirts for all of us to wear while we are railing Ivey in November?

Yeah, that third place finish was pretty lame.

Yeah, that deep run Phillips had this year must have been a fluke too...

I think you decide on the formula for POTY *before* the event - not after you know the results...
