Re: David Sklansky's Home Robbed

Someone finally decided to get the Sklansky bucks that David owed him?

Sorry about the break-in. Nice 2+2 shirt in the video though. I want one now.

Re: David Sklansky's Home Robbed

The reason I mentioned Golden Retrievers is because they have a great bark, they are easy to handle and it's not because they can tear the crap out of anyone, its so their bark wakes you up or keeps the intruder from even coming in.

As to alarm companies, unless they have their own security patrol car to go by and check your home the police 99 out 0f 100 times will never catch anyone in the home.

There are so many alarm calls every night for Law Enforcement to check out. This is why some cities are starting to charge the homeowner for responding to alarms at there homes more than twice in a month.

The equipment the alarm companies usually put in are substandard and installation is usually half azzed to.

If the alarm has a loud bell on it generally it scares the would be burglar away and also gets the attention of your nosey neighbors. We have caught more burglars due to neighbors calling then any alarm.

Bottom line is just be aware of your surroundings.

Sigh, I came into this thread to basically say the same thing but had to look and see if someone said it first

Don't buy a crap alarm from any old company then. I would suggest getting an upgrade from the standard "free" alarm system that you get with a 2yr contract. Pay the extra $100-400 and get a good system with CM alerts & that is tied in with the Fire Dept too.

You need to move, imo.

I can't decide if you purposely wore that shirt as a shrewd advertising move, or if the only clothes you own are from the 2p2 store. 50/50 imo

Re: David Sklansky's Home Robbed

The real question is: did the robbers leave Ed Miller there or take him with the money?

I think you may be mistaken here. EM is on the torture rack at Mason's house.

(sorry, couldn't resist a good straight line)

Some comments are actually shocking...

come on guys... it's a shame...

Things went... kind of 'well'...

But you can never know how a scared man with a gun will react... David Sklansky did the right thing... but what if he started panicking? The already scared robber could panic even more...

Do you understand what are we talking about here? I don't want to even try to imagine that happening to me... You're asleep, safe in your house and you wake up with strangers around you...

brrr

I prefer my house get robbed while I'm not in there...

PS: They broke to my mum's house twice. Thankfully, nobody was in there... not funny anyway... the youngest of my brothers is still a bit concerned about the experience...

Dog + alarm + locked doors (both outside and inside) + gun in the future imo

Sorry to hear about you getting robbed.
