Re: David Sklansky's Home Robbed
Well, now the a little time has passed since this unfortunate, scary incident. I can only hope Mr Sklansky is back to his normal pursuits:

Maybe, maybe not. Depends who you are dealing with. Not saying I am prepared either, never know how/when it will come. I'll have to make the decision when it presents itself. However, I make sure I have easy access and a plan...practice, drill.

The theory I'm trying to espouse however is this: Any home invasion situation is similar to a hostage situation. While there is NO 100% sure-fire course of action that a hostage should take to ensure their survival, there are some widely accepted ideas of what you should do. These include co-operating with your hostage-taker, doing anything & everything you can to reduce the threat level, & avoid backing the attacker into a situation where violence becomes the obvious answer.
Each situation is unique, & again there is NO all-encompassing theory of what you should do in a given situation, the very fact that David survived this situation suggests that he acted appropriately and correctly.
I am pretty sure though, that confronting the offender aggressively and escalating the situation is pretty much the most dangerous thing you could ever do in a situation like this
LOL The other poster was right about my puppy too! She's a killer at heart! <3 <3 <3

I can agree with that. You must realize though that it is a read, which has some margin for error. Also, what next? Balance.

Extremely aggressive dogs from what I read. Live in the country great. Otherwise, no. They hate anyone outside the family. Half wolves are pretty damn cool too. Very large mouth and big "backward biting" teeth to pull prey towards them. Not good around children tho. One I have experience with is submissive around adult male humans especially large ones and will follow the lead of other dogs in the home. It's nice to be friends, don't want to contemplate otherwise so I am very friendly to all in the home. Really, really friendly, lol. Look them straight in the eyes tho.

SKS I assume? Can't imagine what else it would fit. Centerfire Systems has a sale right now 124.99 each. Had a better sale lil while ago, maybe wait? 2 for something I don't remember exactly but def. better than the one price. Need a PM when available?

yah, that's not an SKS, nor will that drum fit in one. right size round though. drum and mags are pretty clearly for any of the AK models.

Re: David Sklansky's Home Robbed
Obvious culprit is Russ. BTW if Sklansky bucks are the theoretical money you win by making +EV decisions (or by robbing Sklansky's house), would that make Hamilton bucks the real money he took by having a Superuser account?

Re: David Sklansky's Home Robbed
I think "co-operate with the burglars at all costs" is a dangerous message.
This makes home invasion robberies way too rewarding with not enough risk for criminals and will simply lead to more of them.
A few stories about home owners blowing the heads off people who broke into their houses would make anyone think twice about trying to nap a few items out of a house.
Clearly you have to be smart about how you use force, if there are 8 guys and they all have guns it's probably best to just give in at that point.
But if you have the chance to get a solid upperhand, you gotta go with it. (like you hear a burglar downstairs and you can get your weapon and get the jump on him)

I'd be happy enough for this to happen, therefore reducing the number of robberies, but if I was in that situation I wouldn't risk my life so that future robbers would be deterred from breaking in to someone else's house.
