So Dnegs tweeted earlier that he has made a bet with Ben Lamb that he will win 3 bracelets at the wsop this summer, and he is getting the hefty price of even money.

I think I'd rather bet on myself eating $1000 of McDonalds than take Negreanus side.

No, but always think a good tournament structure would be "Microstakes Cash Tournament"

Like a normal freezeout tournament except instead of increasing blinds, they just remove 5% of the tournament chips from every pot.

As players bust you merge tables as with any other freezeout.

The last player whose stack hasn't been raked away is the winner.

Apparently, someone who is put into every tournament by a sponsor may have forgotten that everyone else who buys in with their own money clearly places "a bet on themselves" to win a bracelet.

This is an empty, cheap stunt.

Why not commit to each person matching 5% of the prize amount won in any "3d bracelet win" by the other guy, through a gift to the bona fide charity of his choosing.

Haven't you guys ever been to Choice Center? It's called positive thinking, you gotta state your goals and be as positive as possible, then sit back and watch the cash flow your way.

I once had a back and fourth with DNegs where I told him that positive thinking can't influence your equity in an all-in situation, and he was unconvinced of that. Wasn't sure if it could or couldn't. Not joking or exaggerating. I bet by making this tweet, he thinks he may actually run better.

It's not a derail though. His mental processes are part of the discussion.

Assessment of a person's intellectual discipline feeds into, for example, how likely or unlikely it is that a given person would be able to convince themselves post hoc that they didn't have to pay out on a wager, and therefore whether they should be expected to escrow or not when making a bet.
