Made me laugh that this was snuck in, without fully addressing some of the bigger issues with reference to the PokerStars affiliation.

Overall, the video focuses on a lot of stuff I agree is good for poker, though, while skirting around the stuff that potentially isn't -- maybe telling that certain recent PokerStars "innovations" are simply not mentioned.

Also enjoyed the HU King of the Hill analysis and DNegs was very gracious in his assessment of Doug Pork. Good job.

Daniel offering a 50k must win the pokermasters series last longer bet to anyone. He's got a bunch of action so far. So if I have this right, he stands to lose 50k (probable) or win 50k x however many bets he make (unlikely, but huge extra $ for him).

^Correct. Everyone is betting on themselves. Daniel can't lose more than 50k (or 100k, if cap is raised) because only one person can win the jacket.

It's a terrible bet for Daniel. As one would expect, it's only attracting elite players. I think it's highly questionable if Daniel is +EV in the Poker Masters field; let alone a tougher subgroup.

Lets assume there are twenty people that take him up on the bet.

If he wins, he gets 50K from each of them.

If he loses, and one of the guys he bets against wins, 19 bets pay nothing and he pays $50K to the guy who won.

So he can win 20X5OK or lose 50K. He is far more likely to lose the 50K than win the 20X50K even if he is equal in skill with everyone else.

I directly asked all three of them about it and got no response. Then I asked the guy who wrote that Variety article, and he told me that it was PokerCentral informing him that Daniel, Phil, and Antonio are owners.

So, looks like a pretty clear FCC violation, and pretty dishonest/unethical by those three guys, but whatever. Probably not a big enough deal to make a stink of it.

Given that big prop bets like Negreanu's are pretty public on Twitter and poker media, it would be unwise for the winners to "forget" about them during tax time, right?
