After all that money he is still a giant nit. Nothing's changed I see...

Honestly how are they not just getting constant abuse at the table?

Because it's tough to hold a grudge that long when your $57.45 micro roll was held up for a few years.

Seems like they are now fully embracing the villain role. This could actually win back a few people, everyone likes a good villain. Plus as more time passes their scandal will be less remembered. People move on

They just did what a lot of politicians do.

Hide, wait for the forget to set in, and creep back quietly.

First of all, are we certain they're not?

Secondly, their exploits with Full Tilt aren't as well-known as we wish to believe, even in the poker world. I couldn't begin to guess what percentage of the field in a 1K WSOP tourney are knowledgeable of their deeds, then what percentage of that group still carry resentment about it, then what even smaller percentage of that second subgroup has the gumption to say something to their faces.

The open-ended question in this article kind of says it all:

Quote:
Do you think the poker community has forgiven, or at least forgotten, about their role in the Full Tilt scandal?
In reality, if you pare down the "poker community" to the subset of people who would actually go out of their way to throw some shade in the Lederer/Ferguson direction, it's altogether likely those guys could sit at a full-ring table in utter silence.

Because no one cares anymore. It's been 6 years since Black Friday and people don't give two ****s about them at this point.

Same question is why doesn't Chino get abuse or Annie Duke or Melanie Weisner or Michael Borovitz or any of the other people that do some shady stuff.

In my life experience playing poker over the years using the recent Zima situation as an example, most of the regular poker players and gamblers have their own demons or checkered pasts or negative traits that just aren't publicized like the people I've mentioned. So when push comes to shove I already assume the whole poker room I'm in is full of corrupt and shady people. It doesn't even phase me anymore like it used to. And Zima was the icing on the cake for me reading that whole thread. A guy who was this sight's Knight in Shining Armor to out scammers turns out to be a huge scammer himself.

Has there been any update to that BTW? Anyone heard anything? Thread was closed I believe with an implication it might get reopened, but don't think it did...

They have some balls to even show their faces at the WSOP, let alone play. I'm surprised no one has tuned them up yet.

And yet Hellmuth gets a full pass for his role in UB. Makes sense.

hilariously dumb.

So this zima guy, who I have only watched a few minutes of his podcast with joe ingram and occasionally post on here was my knight in shining armor? Whatever narrative you want man, might as well learn to spell though, that way you do not look foolish on the internet websights. .

Back in the early post-black Friday days, someone tried to engage Hellmuth on the subject at a TV table. WSOP came in and shut it down; to his credit, Hellmuth did attempt to answer.

The reason is that WSOP will not let you just abuse a player for something at the table endlessly, so any player who wants to do this has two choices:

1. Directly give them all the abuse they so richly deserve, accomplishing absolutely nothing, and risk getting penalized/kicked out/banned.

2. Make snarky posts on social media, slowroll them every chance possible, ignore them, engage in anything passive aggressive possible to make them feel like garbage.

No real good options.

I had 0 money on full tilt and I still hate them for what they did. Either poker or they will die before people forgive them.
