I wonder if it had something to do with the end of season WSOPc freeroll. The guy with 88 already had a ring and presumably some points towards the freeroll

"the incident was turned over to the proper authorities"

Who are the proper authorities?

A friend of mine whos at the circuit told me more details about the hand. He wasn't at the table, so I'm not sure how close this matches up with what happened. The k4 had something like 14k chips, and 88 already had a big stack. k4 opened, 88 3bet, k4 4bet, 88 5bet all in and k4 called.

I really wish they would release some more details.

So making a bad call nowadays means chip dump?
How can you prove that? Is it against the rules to call off with bad hand?
Guess i got people chip dumping each other all day long at online donkaments, lol.

Edit: Wtf disqualified??? like srsly?. If i have payd to play on that donkament i call all in with wtf do i want, if it's 92o who cares.

Didn't know getting it in 30/70 is considered chip dump, gg.

Hope they disqualified them on more than just having a convo away from the table and bad play. Seems like you open up a huge can of worms if that's your only evidence.

If this is the case disqualifying seems a much bigger reach them previously reported. Limp or raised, got reraised all in, and called with K 4 was originally reported.

What Illini is describing seems like a misstep, try to barrel through, then "oh you got me but priced in and I have a king so let's go. " I agree more details is really important, must be more evidence not out yet

What's the big deal about calling all in with K4, if i have purchased the ticket to the tournament i make as nasty plays as i want, that's poker. Getting disqualified b/c of bad play seems laughable to me considered the little evidence they have for chip dump.
Weird stuff.

When I am playing tournament poker and I am in the small blind, when it is folded around to me I will often turn to the BB and say "flip?" if he agrees we just go all in and lets the chips fall where they may.

It seems quite possible that this is what happened in the case in question, in which case I don't think anyone should be DQ'd since it is not against the rules.

Not sure if you're joking but it is against the rules.

This.. was under the impression you could call off your chips with whatever the fk you wanted.

Article shouldn'tve been posted without more solid details imo

Especially if he called a 5bet starting hand with 14k in chips as described . Is he supposed to fold a king to the other blind after putting so many chips in pot 100% of the time regardless of reads, table dynamics etc etc? If not there has to be more evidence forthcoming. I would guess there will be

I agree about all things being equal calling with whatever you want. But the article being posted is better then NO info to why someone just got 88k stack confiscated. People would just speculate here and elsewhere anyway

Yeah, my personal preference would've been to hold the details until the actual situation that occurred has been revealed to the general public though, just means that the majority of people will naturally side with the "victim" of this case if only given the hand in question.

This last week at Tunica the floor staff was extremely concerned about collusion for some reason. Twice I saw players receive one-round penalties for not raising with the nuts on the river.

Drew was at the tournament with a large group of friends, for whatever that's worth.

I don't know why everyone is snapping, there's obviously zero chance that the hand history itself is the only evidence. I can't wait to hear the other evidence they have though, it's either going to be some kind of audio recording of a conversation, or a conversation overheard by multiple dealers/floor staff.

there is nothing abnormal about that^... but how can they possibly claim collusion based only on speculation. Now if someone came forward and gave evidence, okay.
