I'm so glad this scandal introduced me to Michael Morgenstern.

He did a stream Friday night where he called Aria pretending to be a 14 year-old "doing a book report on card counting" and talked to the pit boss for a good 15 minutes. The pit boss legit thought he was talking to a high schooler. I was entertained.

He also has a video where he burns $10k in cash in a fire because:

1.) He's "real as f*ck".
2.) His dog died while she was getting spayed.

He is a smart guy and entertaining, i just don't like him being so gangster and really trying hard to convey it to his viewers. I am not impressed.

Is there a thread on this guy Morgenstern? He's quite a character. I found him somehow after his first video when he only had a few subs. I thought his videos in the casinos with spy glasses were interesting. But you never see him win the big bucks that he claims to win, because the battery in the glasses always dies too quickly. If he's really got $6 mil in the bank why doesn't he buy 5 pairs of glasses? The burning money was one of the things that turned me off to him because either a) it was fake. I mean who the hell burns $10k? Or b) he's a complete moron for actually burning $10k. He could have given it away to his viewers (or his "army" as he calls them), or to a bum on the street, or 100 other things to make his point to his haters. That's why he said he was burning it, to prove it was nothing to him because he makes so much money. Wtf?

I dont think he is smart necessarily , maybe intelligent. burning 10k is obv very dumb and makes no point, or maybe it does make a point among dumb people.

Being in the US and never playing on one of these sites, may I ask what is there to insure that they are not removing a few ten value cards out of the deck, to skew the odds a bit more in their favor?

It's the wild wild west.... Playing poker on these networks I can see, as there is less incentive to cheat you, but I'm sure it has and does happen to an extent, but playing casino games on here is pretty moronic.

he has said many times on his live stream his videos when he enters a casino are just him ****ing around for entertainment and because he knows the haters, doubters, motivators will just talk more ishh about him & how he's clueless and doesn't know what he's doing, for what its worth he has talked to many security people from many casino's even pit bosses while he's live streaming and they've all confirmed he's banned for cleaning them out, an NFL player who presumably makes millions of $ a year called him and talked about him and his other NFL buddies would be meeting up in FLA and trust him to make them $(an ex-convict who robbed banks)

His latest video "Basic Strategy Deviations" tells me all I'll ever need to know about him. He couldn't fit more ignorance into a 24 minute video if he tried.

Over and over and over he repeatedly talks about having a 6 vs a dealer 7, 8, 9, or T, and the count is high so what do you think the dealer has? The count is high, of course he has a ten. But you should hit because there are 5 of A, 2, 3, 4, 5 but only 4 of T, J, Q, K while 6, 7, 8, 9 are neutral.

You don't need advanced mathematical skills, you don't need advanced blackjack skills, you don't need anything over a third grade education to see how terribly flawed his logic is.

During the video, he claims to have millions of dollars in safety deposit boxes, if that is true, then he should spend some on his education.

It's crazy how his followers in the yt comments believe everything and act like he's the Messiah. If he had all that money, how'd he get it and why the hell would you want to tell everyone about it?

Obviously I agree. But I've known a few ex-convicts, and in my experience, though uneducated, they are often times somewhat intelligent, and usually very dedicated people. This can lead them to accomplish things, while still having some erroneous beliefs about why they succeeded.

I can construct scenario's where someone like him could become proficient at AP blackjack, and they could make a lot of money, and they would get trespassed from many casino's, and they could be dumb enough to call those casino's live on youtube, and on and on. It could happen, I don't think it's likely, but I acknowledge that it is possible.

But I can't construct a scenario whereby his behavior is good, or his advice is solid, or his beliefs are true. I simply can't construct any scenario where his preaching should be blindly followed by others.

On one hand he refutes his "haters" by saying that his videos inside the casino's are just him "messing around". And then on the other hand he uses these same videos as "proof" that his beliefs are accurate. This isn't how logic works, maybe he's lying, maybe he simply doesn't understand. I don't know, and I don't really care anymore, I've seen enough from him to know that there isn't anything about AP blackjack that I can learn from him.

I played online Blackjack live before and I thought this was possible for sure, I stopped playing. Without a doubt, they'll win no matter what. But if they want a better edge and to help even things out with card counters or shuffle trackers they can simply just remove Aces and 10's and add in 5's...

Looks to me like it was deliberate. First, he felt the top card with his thumb to determine its value, then it took him 2 flicks of his finger to get the top card out of the way enough to grab the bottom card. He may have been able to do it before with a single, very quick flick of his finger and not be noticed. I think the reason we see this is because he got sloppy this time.

I just had this thought as a crazy "what if" scenario.

I think they would pick someone a lot "cooler" but he is a pretty magnetic person. I'm not surprised he has some hardcore followers/generals. If I didn't have some traditional statistics/probability education and personal time invested reading 10-15 blackjack books I could see myself maybe thinking he was saying something accurate or innovative. Luckily I'm at a point to where I'm familiar with how to use the terms he is using correctly, and refute what he is trying to say in my head. That being said, the money burning should be a clue for people, but down and out people or people looking to get rich quick get blinded by greed.

The funniest part was the 7-9 are neutral so they can't bust our 16. Certainly it would seem that would give his followers (generals) a pause but I don't think it has.

Yea I saw the prison consulting thing too. Funny. What, does he teach you how to sleep with your *** against the wall and make grilled cheese on the radiator?

He had something on there about making homemade flavored lube out of pop tarts, melted sporks and grape juice. Not sure how all of that works but I could see how that knowledge probably helped the Captain when he was locked up.
