Yeah the nerve of people expressing their opinion on Twitter or other social media. Why don't these people fall in line and shut their mouths and not express their opinions? It's not like we can unfollow them or ignore them; we are forced to listen to their viewpoints. Oh the humanity of social media and opinions...
With all due respect, you have overlooked my main point, which was that Cate Hall has gained the vast majority of her ~9K Twitter followers due to her poker exploits, not for her political viewpoints or outlook on society.
This is why I followed/follow her on Twitter in the first place, for poker. Naturally, some degree of an individual's non poker life/personality/world view is going to come out on their poker based Twitter account, but in Cate Hall's case non poker (specifically political and social issues) Tweets are/have recently been a huge part of her Twitter output.
I don't think this is good for her poker career long term and if I, for example, was a sponsor I would prefer a player to be be posting mainly Tweets about poker or events relating to poker such as the locations where the player is playing. "Poker life", if you will, as well as obviously Tweets relating to specific hands and tournaments. Tweeting masses of non poker stuff is devaluing her as a poker "commodity" in my opinion.
When on occasion she does post something relating to poker, I and other Twitter followers will often not even see it because it is drowned out and engulfed by so many Tweets that have nothing to do with poker.
