You my friend have earned so much respect in this interview. This clown is so ridiculous and your ability to keep your composure, when every word out of his mouth is an absolute joke, is really impressive. This is like the diaries of a fish. "I just wanted to win" being his go to response. Amazing stuff. This is the white version of teddy. I am pretty sure he meant to say "spensive" at the beginning when he outlined his being a rich fish.

I expect the line to play this guy wrap around the block and more than once.

Hes full of excuses, very prideful, hypocritical, and borderline delusional in several ways, but he's quite human and i think i could have a beer with him, enjoy the time talking and relate to him to some extent. He probably does make an effort to do good things for the people who are close to him- like in the lily kiletto incident, he probably thinks of it more like he was helping out a friend rather than acting maliciously towards the other players at the table (who he was clearly cheating out of equity)

"Calling it like it is" is a two way street, you can say what you like but unless we're dealing with objective facts, you have to accept that some people are going to disagree to some extent with your perspective/manner of delivery and call you an ******* for it.

Its fairly tilting to hear him get sanctimonious about giving/getting respect and keeping it classy in competition/needling after some of the things hes said about cate and others who he has feuded with on twitter and the forums

Tl;dr probably wouldnt ever be good friends with him but hes certainly not the most deplorable guy ever

I will say that Doug is gotten pretty darn good at conducting interviews. It's not always easy to tell exactly when he's trolling, he asked good questions he keeps the interview organized but he listens and generally does a very nice job of things

I enjoyed the interview and felt Mike was very candid. Also very good interviewing technique and flow of the production by Doug. There doesn't seem at this point that there is anything Doug isn't good at, so someone will just have to find something and then challenge him HU on it.

I've enjoyed every aspect of this poker feud and the subsequent HU match and then the post match aftermath.

a) because I like poker, and b) because I am a live poker player myself and I view live poker as a kind of miniature version of human warfare, a game of psychological/mathematical chess with real players/pieces not plastic ones, and in an ever fluctuating environment.

Cate and Mike are two very interesting and contrasting players on the "chess board" and you can learn a lot from both of them about poker, and indeed about life.

There aren't too many other arenas where you can cross paths with or gain insights from such a wide variety of types of people over such a short period of time, which is one of the big pluses about playing live poker.

I only watched the first few minutes because lol Mike Dentale but it was weird seeing Doug just sit there and say pretty much nothing for like 3-4 minutes because Mike is a roided up egomaniac.

It seemed like any time Mike spoke for more than 15 seconds, Doug would just sit there nodding, trying to not look annoyed.

MD: "The stakes always matter and anybody who says differently is an idiot"
DP: "I don't think it matters actually"

then later....

MD: "look $30k to me isn't the same as $30k to most of you guys"

basically meaning what? I'm so rich that the stakes don't matter? Or I'm one of those idiots I was just talking about a few minutes ago.

I grew up in NJ, and roided-out, delusional, narcissistic guidos should be the state mascot. There's a reason I haven't been back in over 30 years.

Maybe we should tone down the negativity and look at some of the positives. These are two amazing individuals who each participated in this event to support charity. That alone shows that they are extremely selfless with amazing .

I don't hate Mike more after seeing the interview. At least he was openly admitting his soul read game plan backfired and that he has a lot to learn and he gave Doug more credit for HU expertise than Deeb. Also managed to say nice things about Cate.
