Especially in these times where everyone is struggling to make ends meet.

So the Robinhood guy is giving $50,000 as a reward. I put up the whole story at the link below if you want to read more about it.

Think RobinHood702 would buy the stolen chips then use them in his charity? That would be epic. I bet for $100k the robber would surface and let all of the big dogs go... IMO of course which is often worth less than the 2cents most opinions are worth.

def not. Robin Hood wants to see the guy go to jail. It's probably just to get publicity but the fact remains that he's using it to give himself credibility (who knows why) and put the guy behind bars.

I see I see.... So has anyone heard from the B robber or does anyone know where to get some discounted cranberries? I can't say that I wouldn't buy a few for $5k each and then figure out what to do with them.....I'd imagine thats a good problem to have.... IMO of course.

If he came into the Bellagio poker room each day, played, gradually moved up in stakes, got a box, and by April was playing in Bobby's room, he could then cash out all of the $25K chips without suspicion since it would look like he had won them over the last several months. And if he was in the higher stakes games that start when the WPT comes around in April, then $1.5 million would not be out of the question.

You think the guy would accept a 50/50 split on any chips that are cashed?
01-28-2011 , 05:18 PM
Can't casinos go back and check video to see if he actually won 1.5 million... Just cause it's big stakes doesn't mean its easy to go on heater against some the best in the world...

I can't imagine this guy didn't think of this problem beforehand. He must have had a plan before he took a shot at the 25k chips. Maybe he has a partner in crime who's rich already and has lot's of 25k chips at home and willing to buy them for a set price. Famous paintings are not getting stolen randomly but almost always as a contract, some rich guy just wants that painting. With chips it's obv different but maybe he already had a buyer before he did it.

Funny thing about Einhorn is that he's one of the top hedge fund managers in the industry, with several $bln in AUM. His returns are pretty sick. And when he's not busy with his family and job that pays up to $100m/year, he has time to keep a sharp poker game. That guy does not suck at life.

Using the handle "Oceanspray 25" -- a reference to the beverage company because $25,000 chips are known to gamblers as "cranberries" for their color -- Carleo traded e-mails and phone calls with another user who eventually led him to police, the arrest report said.

as soon as he signed up, Oceanspray25 was stalking Provotrout around the forum after Provo expressed slight potential interest in purchasing stolen cranberries. I'm going to assume Provo was the one who turned him in. Kudos to him.

How many potentially worthless cranberries would you accept for a legit 5k chip? I'd probably chance a few k with a good sized roll.. If it worked I'd buy a boat and name it "Live Rakeback."

It's full-proof.
"Steiber said investigators followed numerous tips in the case, and on Dec. 23 interviewed a Salvation Army bell ringer who tried to cash a $25,000 Bellagio chip. He told police that a man he didn't know put the chip in his pocket while he was manning a charity collection bucket."

Fullproof imo.

casino's should make a "not responsible for compensating losses due to robbery" claus in fine print and then periodically hire robbers to rob them when they have lots of maniez on the tablez, and then discontinue the chips for a while = casino pockets revenue by freerolling ghost money.

Lololol. oceanspray! CRANADA! the guy just post here like it's nothing.
