Just found this! Here's the notice cancelling the Bellagio 25k chips in todays paper.

Hey B robber, congratulations, after April 22nd you have some really nice home game chips.
True this! Years ago I used to buy all the sets of commemorative chips that the local card rooms put out. They were usually in $5 denomination chips. Like Hollywood Park and their "jockey" series. So now years later I have several hundred dollars in commemorative chips, all sitting in a bag in my closet. I start taking them to the local casinos. Guess what? They no longer honor these chips. They have no value! Hello!!!
At some time years ago, they put out notices that these chips had to be exchanged by a certain date. I missed the notices and the deadline. SOL for me. I reminded them that I had paid cash money to the casino for these chips. Spoke with a supervisor at the cage. Did it do me any good? Nada! So if any of you collect commemoratives, look me up.
