There's certainly a possible truth in that

I think between the DOJ, KGC (who doesnt want legal trouble) and UB owners (who dont want added legal trouble) you can find enough money to repay the US players. Then it's about figuring out what's the best way to take care of the non-US balances in a fair way that could limit the damages from everybody involved.

However, ongoing legal negotiations have restricted our ability to communicate publicly. We hope that you will understand.
A lot of companies use this excuse but is it actually true? It might a very prudent thing to do, but it hurts the relationship with your customers a lot. Why don't companies like Cereus and FTP don't communicate more? They could keep the sensitive data private and still let people know that they are doing stuff. They could send emails or have some kind of status page or blog. But no they insist on stonewalling us and force Customer Service to copy paste semi legal sounding crap in every email instead of talking like humans.

Even from a business point of view coming of as a customer friendly company must be more profitable.

Wow GUI that is amazing news, def best we've heard thus far. That coupled with the 10/31 deadline, and the updates from Kahnawake really make me feel like we might get a large portion of our balances back

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

Would the KGC actually cover some of UB's debt? That seems preposterous to me.

To this end, you should know that we are currently in active discussions with a number of parties about potential sales opportunities, and we continue to work diligently to devise a solution that will allow us to distribute funds to players. This has been, however, a complicated process, and the determination of appropriate mechanisms for the safe and efficient distribution of funds to players has proven to be an especially difficult task.
This is such a convoluted statement. I don't even know where to start. Lol @ sales opportunities. Who in their right mind would want to touch this company?

I don't think we'll see a favorable resolution in the near future, these guys are just going the FTP route. They are just trying to prolong this as much as possible. Aren't the games practically dead now?

Nevertheless, despite a series of formidable obstacles, we believe that we are close to finalizing a well-considered process of distributing funds to players that will be fair for all account holders. We expect, therefore, to issue a statement in the near future, providing the details of this process.
Are they saying we've the necessary money to cover a percentage of US player's accounts and are putting forth a proposal to non-us guys?

gui,

Can I ask if you are the only guy who got this email or did they send it to all the players? also, what is your take on the situation?

meh, call me a pessimist but this is hardly any news. They're putting so many stipulations in their statements.

Something obviously seems to be cooking. I was hopeful when I read the KGC email but with the term "sales opportunities" floated in the UB/AP email, I'm guessing we'll have to wait this out much longer without any assurances as to how this will end.

Definitely a possibility. I remain optimistic mainly because a common them in both that email and the statements by the KGC is that they actually have a plan in place on how/when they will distribute funds. FTP never came close to insinuating payouts were coming in their statements. Obv it could all be a bluff but it just seems unnecessary when they could have just disappeared to South America and got the same result. Someone is paying Lola and company to stick around

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

So what are they gonna do once they allow cashouts for whatever % on the dolllar? I mean everyones obviously going to immediately cashout everything at once and cause a " poker depression" if you will lol. But seriously how are they going to handle everyone cashing out everything all at once?

Are you serious? You'd probably have a better chance of eliciting a response from DOJ

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

Blank Rome won't give out any info, even just a confirmation about a potential deal in the works. This I am 100% sure of as I have tried calling them on numerous occasions.

Thinky, isn't it possible that someone would buy their software and just rebrand it? I mean the software alone has to be worth millions. AP/UB software was some of the best in the industry before they went down. Correct me if I'm wrong but everyone I've talked to and played with on Cereus leading up to black friday loved AP's software and customer service. I think its a def possibility that they could sell their software and player base info to a third party for millions of dollars.
