Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?
I think I am preparing myself to say goodbye to the money.
I requested a payout on Thursday (before the news).
Since then (cliffs):
- I've been told repeatedly (on Fri, Sat and Sun) via live chat and phone that non-US players were not affected and transactions were processed normally - it's clear now that those were lies.
- as an exception one of their reps (who probably didn't get the memo) spilled the beans to me on Sunday that payouts for non-US players were suspended (I posted a screen shot here). This was promptly denied by their phone support who assured me there were no issues for non-US players. The first guy turned out to be right and it does suggest to me that the company had already decided by then to suspend payments to non-US players but made it their policy to lie about it and deny for as long as they could.
- to this day I haven't received an e-mail from AP with their statement on the situation. Their website doesn't mention a word. Compare this to Stars that promptly sent out e-mails and display announcement in the client lobby. AP/UB's silence seems outright weird and very worrying. It is also very disrespectful to their players (insert a joke about superusers here) and maybe suggests that the company doesn't really care anymore now.
- from other threads I can see that Stars have already started paying out so there is no problem with Moneybookers, Neteller etc (for non-US). On the other hand there aren't confirmations on 2+2 that anyone got paid by AP/UP post-Friday.
- Bluff Magazine says that they decided to stop accepting US players. Considering that the proportion of their business that comes from US is significantly higher than Stars, can they survive this? Without US players but with doubly-tarnished reputation it's not looking good at all. Non-US players are unlikely to play there over, say, publicly listed Party and 888. So will AP/UB decide to call it a day while they still have players money and shut down operations?

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?
hey i'm canadian and i'm on the live chat, about a payout i requested yesterday (april 17th at 5:00 pm), i'll write it here just to confirm that the payouts are delayed. and I hope they are honnest talking about I will surely get my money!
Payouts: Thank you for contacting Payments department. My name is Mónica. How can I assist you today?
me: hello
Payouts: Hello!
me: i am canadian and i requested a payout yesterday, at 5:00 pm
me: i heard there was some problem with payouts, even with the non-us customers
me: so i wanted to know if my resquested payouts is gonna take long
Payouts: Please keep in mind that with the issue of our US customers with the government all payout are having a delay during the processing for that reason payouts will not arrive in the estimated time.
me: yes thanky ou, therefore i'd like to know how long it is going to take, approximatively? please
Payouts: We do not have an estimated time frame, but it will take longer than usual. You will see the updates in your Cashier.
Payouts: As soon as it’s processed we will let you know via email, we do not have a time frame yet.
me: ok and you can assure me that these founds will hit my bank account 100% sure?
me: (eventually)
Payouts: We are working hard to get all payouts for non US processed as soon as possible.
me: yeah all right, thank you for that. but, in the case that it is not going to be soon, it is going to happen anyway ? I'm asking if even if it's going to take a long time, I will get the money from the payouts, 100% sure ?
Payouts: Yes, you will get your funds.

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?
knef: relax. Your points are true, but they don't really imply anything. If before learning all that you thought that your money is worth X cents on the dollar, after learning all of what you wrote, my valuation wouldn't change much after.
All sites are having problems right now - it's not specific to AP. Stars and FTP have paid SOME people, but some people have also not gotten paid. In either case, every site is having problems right now, which is to be expected. Just give things some time before making any conclusions.
Also: people bombarding support with repetitive questions with no apparent reason, you're just wasting your time and slowing things down.

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?
You have to realize that if they opened up cashouts to non us players, the us players would be setting up chip dumping/cashout systems with their friends, which is probably not something that they want to deal with.

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?
It's also not unreasonable to think that they are deciding if they can make a go of it and have already concluded that if they don't continue they certainly won't payout the players when they can simple use player funds to pay their fines/bribes, lawyers and owners instead. I'm not saying this is the case but it certainly fits with their company culture.

Re: Can we discuss Cereus specifically?
US player here.
Payout requested via premium bank wire (3.2k) and "processed" on 4-11-2011. This was before the shutdown news.
Have been talking to vip chat, normally it takes 5-7 business days. WIll update if and when it comes in.

If the payout was processed on the 11th present situation does not have any impact on it, not on Cereus side (possibly on payment processor side though).

They want US players to play there so I would think they'd be okay with transfer/cashout systems.
Anyway, a poker site without any cashout options is just a scam.
