What makes me wonder this is an article that was published in the January 17, 2011 "Poker Player". The author is Oklahoma Sarah Hale.

She writes, in reference to an online poker room skin that she developed and owned: "It was a functioning online poker room. They took us back into the technology headquarters and actually showed us how they could look at everyone's hand. They said that they would never do it, but it can be done and I observed it for myself."

She then goes on to say that play the very low limits because: "they do not bother to cheat you down there and you can have a lot of fun." She also states that: "Do not try to win money - just play micro-limits and enjoy the game."

Really makes me wonder how honest any of the sites are. Is this possible at all sites, including Poker Stars and Full Tilt? Can people see the hole cards while the game is in progress? Yikes, if true!

No, not at any reputable room. That would be a pretty huge design flaw if it were possible (like, for example, it was at AP/UB etc.).

People are absolutely clueless if you don't think cheating goes on at Full Tilt or Pokerstars...you guys really underestimate people's greed, it's quite funny.

Im working hard on this, me and my computer experts are moving in that direction. It would be so epic to crush online.

There's a huge difference between saying some form of cheating might be going on (collusion, team play, botting, etc.) and saying that the site has one or more superuser accounts set up on the production server.

OP probably doesn't know about the UB/AP scandal and anyone who doesn't might want to take a look at the forum stickies.

Obviously such an account might be occasionally necessary for development and QA, but I don't think it's a stretch to believe that reputable sites have disabled all such access on their live servers.

Also, the idea that you should only play micros and only for fun is silly. For one thing, playing for pennies might not be all that interesting to some people. And some of us are beating mid- and high- stakes games straight up, regardless of whatever cheating might be going on. Probably the woman who wrote the article just can't win at anything but micros.

there is no burn, for obvious reasons.
There is, however, some sites that use a continuous shuffle (FT for sure), i.e. the turn card is not determined until it is required. This allows you the pleasure of knowing that if you'd only paused for a moment before clicking call, you probably wouldn't have suffered the ugly gutshot suckout that just felted you.

Do you honestly believe a site that is running doesn't have complete transparency over everything that is transpiring on said site?

To those who think this would never occur, ask yourself if you had a means to print money, and the chances of anyone find out were slim to none, would you do it?

Do I think, or know that this is going on? No idea.

Do I believe it does, given basic human nature coupled with money. Yes.

Do I believe online poker is rigged. No, its not necessary.

Again, such access may be necessary during dev and possibly QA but the major poker sites claim no such account exists for their production servers. Edit: In fact, reading the FTP page, it sounds like they don't even allow it for that stuff. They could conceivably do their validation after the fact using the HHs or something.

Whether or not you believe that is I guess up to you, but I don't think it's too much of a stretch in the wake of the UB scandal.
