Phase One of our social media campaign is complete! We have done one round of contacting on social media (Twitter, Facebook, emails) all the Florida legislators, Florida cardrooms and major Internet poker networks to make ourselves and our draft bill known.

Phase Two will be concentrated on Tweets to Florida legislators, to find a serious interest in sponsoring our bill. There will be about one Tweet a day. Anyone from anywhere may send the tweets, not just Florida residents. Here I'll post a Spredd.it link to send each tweet - just click the link and hit the Tweet button in the pop-up window.

First off I think what you are doing is great and hope it works.

I do not know if spamming on Twitter politicians is the correct way to go. Many won't bother clicking on the twitter link and many do not even look at their twitter as they have interns handle social media for them.

The best approach would be to schedule a 30 minute meeting with them at their office. Very few politicians will not make the time to speak to individuals that make appointments in their office in advance. Face to face is a must as you have to realize that Sheldon Alderson has donated millions to politicians in the State of Florida (including Gov Scott). So the issue of "States Rights" need to be discussed as a major factor also as to why online poker/gaming should be put to the voting booths... Emails & Twitter versus Sheldon Alderson's donations is a tough battle. So lobbying in person is a must.

Either way, your have put together a great proposal/bill, you are working so hard for a great cause.. and I hope you succeed. Best of Luck and great job
