Then you're good to go?

Remember most people in real world society would look down at poker pro negatively (and unjustifiable), so if you are one that cares about reputation, you should be a poker pro to begin with.

Re: Brian Hastings is retiring from poker

Why does a guy who is hated by most of the poker community post a personal blog is beyond me. I never understood this need of self presentation many people seem to be having. Must be some ego trip disorder. I mean who gives a ****, you aint no ****in Alist actor or something! Just take your stolen money and go enjoy life while you can. It seems to me he is dealing with a lot of mental issues and I am pretty sure the stolen money has something to do with it. Bad conscience is a biatch and living with it is not easy.

Sorry, who are you talking about? Doesn't sound like Hastings at all. Could apply to Chris Ferguson maybe.

Nobody commenting on this?

"I played on USA poker sites some, then read a book called Alligator Blood by James Leighton that explored the underworld of Daniel Tzvetkoff and black market payment processors. I withdrew my balances."

Anyone familiar w/ this book?

It's a good book, Tzvetkoff is one of the main reasons Black Friday happened. I recommend it for sure.

Ya I can't stand these guys. They should try getting up at 6 30 in the morning to work a ****ty desk job until 5 o clock in the afternoon with little to no appreciation. Maybe then they would realize how good they have it and they would stop whining like little bitches.

I believe they ran out of money a year before it became easy for DFS sites to raise a ton of capital. (See DraftKings/FanDuel in early 2015) Even then, the DFS bubble burst even faster than it was inflated last year. Really isn't a sustainable business model imo.

Did not read the book, but I can tell you that

Full Tilt suing Tzvetkoff for like $450 million or some amount and thereafter apparently dropping a dime for him to be arrested in Las Vegas was certainly the worst - EV decision ever taken, whether either was done on the dubious advice of counsel or not.

Full Tilt needed the money. They were taking forever sending money and it was quite clear even a week or two prior to BF that they were insolvent and about to die.

Re: Brian Hastings is retiring from poker

This all seems pretty logical. Product of culture where shameless self promotion and greed are rewarded. Ego bc of 2+2 and how intelligent hardworking high stakes poker players are referred to as geniuses & made to feel extraordinarily special. For years every time he walks into a poker room eyes are on him & people say "that's Brian Hastings!!" Touchofevil makes some good points.

Dude is a decent human being at his core & will probably cringe when looking back at the blog in 6 months. Life is a process. Don't see what's wrong with recognizing he's making a good decision for himself & wishing the best. He admits turning into a ****ty person he doesn't like & is getting out of poker bc of it. I respect he can put himself on blast like that (among the complaints... but that is poker in 2016, there's a lot to not like... nothing like the game we fell in love with 10 years ago). I think he's got a very bright future.

We are being very lenient on the Hastings barbs. But several comments about his girlfriend have been deleted.

No more girlfriend posts please.
