If you're going to take that approach, you still have to accept that it's going to tarnish your reputation and standing in the community. Most people feel the stress and burden of that social pressure. Apparently Brian is no exception.

Summary: all the scummy stuff Brian did is justified by his depression, but the scummy stuff people did to him is unjustifiable.

I kind of forgot Hastings even existed since he blocked me on twitter a year or two ago. Good riddance.

ummm yeah. this is just something everyone did. even when i was playing mid and small stakes full ring at stars prior to bf. people shared databases and bought many hundreds of thousands of hands at ptr. sites couldn't stop it so if you wanted to be on an even keel with your reg opponents, you bought hands, and studied.

I don't see what's wrong with this. Back before BF, I studied players with tons of friends and I doubt anyone would care because I was playing only $100-$400nl but such a big deal because it's a lot of money. ****ing hypocritical and funny. I wouldn't call him a cheater in that instance but if you do, say he's a cheater that played well

Hastings’ had flopped top pair and a flush draw with Qs6s, but the 8h turn and 9h river failed to get him over the hump. He was eliminated, granting Dawley a big chip boost in the process.

I can't believe he lost 70% of his net worth. If I won that much money I would have ridden off into the sunset. I guess reckless risk taking is how he got the money in the first place though.

And laugh out loud at people who say that he cheated Isildur. Poker is a hustle full stop.

Whether you watch poker training videos, analyse your Hold Em manager Databases, contribute to poker forums or download hand histories you're doing so to gain an edge over your opponents in the hope of beating money out off them in the long term.

That's just the way it is. You can glamorise it all you want but at the end of the day when you profit it's at somebody else's expense.

LOL.. did you ever hear of pokertableratings? Guarantee 90%+ of all regs had a sub to that when it was rolling in it's prime.

It's a ****ing game of information and if your not pursuing every bit you can get then your costing yourself. Those people that slack move on and get "real" jobs.

I am pretty sure alot the pros that "held his back" did it in silence. Not taking an official stance, that way they can still be in his vicinity. I mean, lets be honest here, knowing Hastings on a personal level or atleast being very friendly on skype means potential $. Either in pieces/%, or just the general knowledge he provides in sportsbetting, pokers, et al. He is a clever guy. It´s burning money to take moral high ground for the enjoyment of NVG and blast Hastings, it also wrecks your own reputation and makes other pro´s vary of you(since they know you didnt have your mouth shut) since most guys do shady stuff on different levels, be it multiaccounting, hand history purchases or ghosting. At some level most do some "shady"(not really shady) but in the eyes of the bust NVG-tard that pulls the pitchforks out it all is gonna be shady no matter what the crime as long as it is a successful pokerplayer that maybe is even ugly. Good luck that one.

also, after reading blog, not taking any consideration into what hes done and not done - guy seem to have zero natural douchebag repellent shield. Seems he gotten routinely taken advantage of. Not fun regardless of what you think of his character.
