You seem like a stand up fellow.

Retiring from poker, but then challenging people to play poker vs him on ACR.
Retiring story checks out.

.

Do you have any idea how disgusting it looks to recreational players that pros brush off outright cheating as standard?

I would assume Brian is retiring from full time poker but will still play if he's bored or has some spare time.

The way he's being backed into a corner by NVG (News, Views, & Gang mentality) and having every word parsed for years is disgusting.

I don't think VPN is a cardinal sin for US players, I don't think there is anything wrong with collecting information on your opponents, and it's ridiculous how this **** is getting blown out of proportion. That's my opinion. Most people ITT really cannot relate to the perspective of a HS pro who deals with a huge amount of shady behavior through their career. Playing on a known whales account was a bad decision. The ensuing situation was handled poorly (his intentions weren't as sadistic as they're portrayed... see his reaction). So every time his name pops up or he does something newsworthy it's our responsibility to put him in his place???? Gtfo
Yeah but Bakes and Hero Value can and they think he is scum so ya know...

the guy has made more than all 2nl regs in a year so retirement is justified?

Can people not read? Guy clearly states he's going to play 20-40 hours a week or whatever

You know poker's dead when even the worst, and most successful, cheaters have to give it up.

i never understood the hate this guy gets. Guess some people can't stand his personality?

Personally i don't think he did anything 'outrageous' to warrant getting labeled cheater or remotely close to it.

One thing is for sure he doesn't owe anyone anything.

Strangely enough, some consider it cheating when you agree to play by certain rules, but then decide to break the rules you said you'd follow because you can make money if you break them.
Some even consider it even worse when you're sponsored and paid by the very site whose rules you are breaking.

Some people have this weird notion that some things are not ok to do even if you make money doing it.

Yes +1

It's amazing how someone who has won so much in this community treats the community like garbage and is genuinely an empty shell of a human. Huge POS. Remember post NoelHayes scandal when he basically asked everyone to stop talking about it because it looked bad that an ambassador (him) of the game was caught up in this. Also he said all he has tried to do was grow the game and continuing to discuss the situation was detrimental to the growth and legalization of online poker. Lmao.

I really hope Brian Hastings future business partners with Unitea read this before ever engaging in any dealings with him. If we all post his name followed by Unitea, I'm sure this will be a top result on Google.

When someone like hotmark proceeds to reveal his true character, I certainly don't feel like I owe him anything. If I called out everyone who's done something >= to as bad as what I did to him, I'd have a list of like 3,000 people who "owe me something"
I need your scummy "guilty pay off" like i need a shotgun to the face. How did you expect to be treated, with respect? LOL Funny how a scumbag and proven cheat like you comes on here and calls people names just because you got treated the way you deserved to be.

Whats even funnier is that you must be one of the biggest winners in online history with that one day vs isildur alone and you still went out of your way and broke rules to gain an edge in the games....

Good luck with your endeavours whatever they may be

This. SO many respected high stakes regs have either done the same thing (MA, team strat and shared DB) and pretty much all know several who did. It was almost commonplace back in the day. He wasn't colluding just playing on a another account. You see them laugh it off when it comes up. No one who matters cares about this in more than a "ya he probably shouldn't have done that" way.

Scripting, real time software, and other **** is SO MUCH worse. Where is the outrage? Who is the scapegoat for those?

Do you think the Germans sit silo'd in their poker house independently coming up with strat vs the best players? Do you think they don't share hands?

Get a life. Leave him alone to go forth and make tea. I hope they have Dave chapelle skit on unity in their marketing "uniteeeeeeee"

Brian, I hope you get help and find happiness some day. Quitting poker would be a start (although it's abundantly clear that's not actually happening). Good luck.

FWIW hope you aren't one of the guys who complains about image problems for poker players. It's pretty ****ty that making a point on 2+2 is more important than choosing a charity you think needs & deserves help. Making Brian look bad is a bigger priority to you as if NVG needs help.. All while whining about self-serving behavior in a weak passive-aggressive message
