I really don't understand how anyone can possibly respect this guy. He's a blatant multi accounter and scammer.

hmmmm

would you be OK if I took you up on this but was able to pick anyone I wanted from the poker world to play alongside me and tell me which buttons to click. Of course you would not know who they were.

I dont wish you or anyone harm and respect the fact you are making some positive life changes, but you seem to be going about it all wrong thus far.

I don't think it's right to publicly mention names but these people were not my friends nor had any relationship with me, nor did I have any strong reads on them. I just wanted to move on.

When someone like hotmark proceeds to reveal his true character, I certainly don't feel like I owe him anything. If I called out everyone who's done something >= to as bad as what I did to him, I'd have a list of like 3,000 people who "owe me something"
So the payments were to individuals who fitted within two categories... Good people & Good people who felt wronged. Fair enough, that's your call, however would it not have been better to be clearer at the time so a clear line can be distinguished and a process for payments mapped out. The friends or not comments are great an all but don't confuse the issue, they are not relevant when explaining why the payments haven't been made (assuming they haven't).
As such, your last paragraph is non-sense, reads poorly and is again irrelevant.

The problem here Brian is that you're getting emotional and defensive as (exemplified by the challenge to take on all comers) and this is clouding the waters regarding how you have dealt with this issue, or not as the case may be.

Imo, you've compounded the issue further by not answering the claims, adding subjectivity about who you owe money to, and why... and instead offered no clear
solution to the "good people who felt wronged". Come on man, surely you're better than this..?..!

Lastly, GL in your business... I mean that (I used to watch your CR video's and have remained neutral about your poker choices as I personally don't play that high) It's great that your undertaking new challenges outside of poker. However know this, business doesn't operate this way and, as a start up, you'll need to adopt a less predatory and more ethical approach to your business dealings.

If you cheated these people, you need to pay them back. It doesn't matter how they reacted to being cheated.

One of the sleaziest things I've read in a while. Why would you be deciding what to do with someone else's money that you cheated them out of?

Who is "deciding"anything ?

Perhaps he is offering to pay the amount to charity as an offer to settle a claim against him which is disputed as to both liability and amount ?

A claim which is false or mistaken as to liability or amount can be resolved quickly without enrichment of the supposed wrong-doer or giving the claimant a retroactive freeroll for 100% of his claimed losses from playing poker against the supposed wrongdoer attributed to the effect of the "deception".

"Oh, I never would have played him if I knew" seems a bit skewed as a basis for liability and seeks a 100% freeroll, even if the aggregate losses were in part attributed to bad play or bad luck rather than any alleged material effect of the claimed deception.

You may have some idea what sort of discount would be appropriate for this sort of claim allegation, I don't.

A "poker loss" claimant can take the offer, if that is what was made, or counter offer or ignore it. Any negotiation process should be undertaken private; sorry if that reduces your personal entertainment value however..

Nope, you are mistaking his sleazy personality for sarcasm. He has passive-aggressively suggested giving the victims' money to a charity instead of to the victims themselves before and was not joking. He said "out of thin air" because he refuses to calculate an amount and wants to pretend like it's other people that are being unreasonable.

Playing 15/30 NLH and PLO and 75/150 O8 has to be the best way to quit poker.

Watching that isildur match live was GREAT entertainment. Good luck

I suggested sarcasm because the idea that he would follow through either way (charity or repayment) is laughable, like actually provokes laughter. At this point in time he has absolutely ZERO motivation (and at this point I can see why) to actually do either of those things and all of NVG couldn't change that. Just saying.

That's not really sarcasm though, because he wouldn't want people to know that he has no intention of ever giving the $ to charity. He wants people to think he's a reasonable guy trying to come up with a fair compromise, when in fact the opposite is true, so it's not sarcasm so much as it is just deception.

*thumbs up*

I like all your analysis ITT Stinger. Authentic & shows maturation. Seeing things clearly imo. Charity suggestion is great. The sit will never be figured out in a black & white manner where everyone is 100 % appeased. Hotmark, pick a # & make a nice contribution to something you care about that needs help. Is it more important that you get exactly the correct amount of equity & make a point against BH or help a charity in need? Ignore the people seeking out problems instead of solutions.

Gl on your journey.

"Still, from time to time I would hear people label me a cheater. It ate at me some."

^ Years ago, after the Isildur incident, so he thought:

"I hate being called a cheater by people, so I know, I'll cheat MORE and I'll multi account, and **** over a bunch of other people, then that'll help with my dislike of being called a cheater."

So we should shame him like a rapist for the rest of his life because of some naive decisions/reactions??? He seems like a well intentioned nice person who wants the best for others. He has an incredible work ethic. He's happy to throw some $ towards charity (I could care less about the spectrum of motivations). All worthy of respect imo. The way he's being backed into a corner by NVG (News, Views, & Gang mentality) and having every word parsed for years is disgusting.

I don't think VPN is a cardinal sin for US players, I don't think there is anything wrong with collecting information on your opponents, and it's ridiculous how this **** is getting blown out of proportion. That's my opinion. Most people ITT really cannot relate to the perspective of a HS pro who deals with a huge amount of shady behavior through their career. Playing on a known whales account was a bad decision. The ensuing situation was handled poorly (his intentions weren't as sadistic as they're portrayed... see his reaction). So every time his name pops up or he does something newsworthy it's our responsibility to put him in his place???? Gtfo

So he felt guilty about people who believe they were done wrong and decided to pay them back but never admits he did anything wrong? Good riddance dude.
