Breathalyzer lock for PC?
Does anyone know if this product is available?
I want to buy it for a friend.
Yesterday when sober he ran 2K into 17K. Then after getting tanked he was apparently up to 30K. At that point he was multi-tabling 5/10 PLO and losing bad, he tried to transfer 10K to another account (so he wouldn't lose it). He thought it was done and was so drunk that he thought he won somewhere cuz his account showed 12K. He wen't on to lose all of that. He actually had an argument with PStars about where the 10K was, but they had transfered it back to him.
Note from PStars
" I have attached your play audit at 8/12/2009 6:37:26 AM EST. Transaction
ID 1519***63. You will see that we rejected the transfer, your balance
went from $2,134.84 to $12,134.84. You then proceed take the funds to use
at the table in Omaha PL games."
He wakes up today thinking he has 10K, instead he has $3.20.
A computer locking Breathalyzer would be a good invention. There is no was this guy gets let into a casino in this state. Is it out there already?
Im sure some of you have similar stories.

lol... you just haven't drank enough then.
This would be awesome for me - except I don't usually drink, I just take lots of drugs then spew off money. Get me a breathalyzer lock for xanax (or any other benzo) and somas and I'll buy it for sure.

Re: Breathalyzer lock for PC?
I've always wanted this. Now understand I'm not a total degen, I'll just play $10PLO or whatever just for kicks. The worst for me lately has been Carbon poker blackjack (I tried removing the graphic and emailed them but it's a no go).
It works both ways though. You can wake up with a few hundo less but way back in the day I had 30 bucks on UB and got smashed ...woke up with $240 the next day. I thought someone did I transfer on accident but I ran like Jesus on some 50NL tables lol.
I'm a nit I know ;-)

Re: Breathalyzer lock for PC?
Shouldn't be to hard to make with a standard breathalyzer, some soldering and some basic serial-port programming.
I only play microstakes plo when I had a drink. Not really feeling the urge to go robusto in 1 session.

Re: Breathalyzer lock for PC?
could help the degen masterbators as well. waking up with rasberries and such.
I do think that in the long run, people would be happy not to play while drunk. Especially those who do this as "work". For now the guy is going to try to get a friend to change his password everytime before they go and drink. That will only work for so long.
This could be a "million dollar idea" jsut like the "jump to conclusions mat" in Office space.

No need for a breathalyzer. Anyone that turns 2K into 17K in one day playing cash games has a problem. In this case, it appears he has more than one. Stop fooling yourself. It had nothing to do with him (you?) being sober.

Re: Breathalyzer lock for PC?
I don't think such a thing exists. If you really wanted to block yourself from playing while drunk, one way would be to devise a number of different math problems (keep the problems written down but not the answers) and make your poker password all the resulting numbers. That way you'd have to get through 5 minutes of algebra before you signed on.

Re: Breathalyzer lock for PC?
They have them for cars so it cant be that hard to get something hooked up to ur computer. I think hes better off just doing a self exclusion deal for 12 or 24 hours instead though.
