At this rate, you will be solid by 2034 or so.

Actually, it was a pretty noticeable swipe at Brad Booth. Not that there is anything wrong with that but there is no way he posted that simply as an acknowledgement of debt.

He's clearly getting STAKED. Enough of this already.

He's a +ev player in many different games, there are people willing to put him in since he's a pretty good gamble.
As far as the guy making a $200 payment, it completely sucks he burned you like that but the reality of his situation is that he's no longer operating with 'poker money' where a bunch of dudes throw around five figures like it's nickles and dimes. Booth is not the first one to find himself in the very unenviable position of having to pay off easy-come poker money debt with goddamn-hard-to-come-by real world money.
WCGrinder has every right to be livid pissed, but he should probably just sit tight. Eventually, Booth will get back in the chips and clear this **** up. In the meantime, the children LOL'ing at him making a small good faith payment are just that. Children. Spend some time in the big-boy poker world, you'll see guys who completely burn down owing hundreds of thousands and take jobs in call centers to make $100 payments. It happens, it sucks if you're the creditor but that's the tail risk to lending in the 'poker economy'. As much as clueless ****wads love to create this narrative about how freely money flows in the poker world and everyone's obligated to pass it out like candy at Halloween, the reality of the situation is different. There are plenty of 'name players' who don't lend but for the closest circumstances. The consequence of that method is that they don't have the same options to free-flow borrow, but they also don't assume the risk of someone "moving on from poker" before they can pay them back.

It would be one thing if it was a loan, but as I understand things, it wasn't a loan, it was a transfer that was supposed to happen but never did. That's WAY different than if it was a loan, it's stealing, and that money should be returned ASAP before any "creditor" is paid, because it's not credit.

No, it wasn't a loan.
It was a transfer of funds to a man who was in the process of burning down.
"I'll give you 30 in (Casino X) money when I get home if you can give me 30 (Casino Y) money right now..." has been a standard pitfall in the poker economy forever, the risk being that person might have a solid reputation but may be in the process of combusting and you just don't know it yet. When payback time comes, you get no chips but plenty of excuses...
****, didn't this very site have a former moderator (Cornell Fiji) who got in trouble with basically this exact same thing?
One thing that's ben a running joke around LV amongst the old timers is just how ****ing naive the new kids are. They changed the game, that's for sure, but when it comes to knowing how to keep from getting scalped, they're like little babes in the woods. Even funnier yet, when they do get rolled, they have no idea how to handle their business but to make lamenting internet forum posts. You gash me for tens of thousands of dollars? I'll see to it that you're calling mom to take a second mortgage on her house to raise the funds. There's a lot of very scary and very real people around town who are willing to collect precisely this kind of debt on a 70/30 contingency.
Fact remains, in the poker world, when you hand someone cash in exchange for promises, it doesn't matter what those promises are, you're a creditor.
This is not new.
Sorry Brad Booth got caught up in it and sorry that guy got zapped for 30 grand, but such is the degeneracy inherent to the ethical slumland known as the poker world.
