Re: Brad Booth's Apology to WCGrider, Others, and Poker Community
I love how comical the get a job comments are. Ummm, his job is being a poker player. There is no doubt he is skilled at his craft, he was just dumb with his money.
I think if he plays smart and gets his head on straight he can turn it around. He does have a few things working for him too. He has a backer, he's accepted his mistakes, he seems genuinely sorry for what he did, and on that "long list", there doesn't appear to be anybody who's posing a threat to his safety. If there was, he wouldn't have been this public about everything.
Good luck Brad.

You realize how long it takes to pay back that amount with a job? He prolly didnt work like the last 10 years, so its not like he will get a sick job.

people said he should go work the rigs. you make around 120k/year and im pretty sure they require a grade 10 education. no one said it was a sick job though.

Re: Brad Booth's Apology to WCGrider, Others, and Poker Community
Seems pretty obvious to me that he has a gambling problem and shouldn't be anywhere near a casino. I don't have sympathy for the people owed as there is always an inherent risk with giving money out in these situations. He's a degen, scumbag piece of **** blah blah blah really is a terrible way of looking at things. The man has a disease and needs the right help imv. Thats not to excuse his despicable actions.
But my God it makes you think how many degens you've pummelled online after seeing that video....kind of depressing.

Any one admitting to a gambling problem, saying they are going to fix the issue of stealing $28k off someone, by gambling more is totally kidding themselves.

Re: Brad Booth's Apology to WCGrider, Others, and Poker Community
"I publicly make a promise to myself, the people I owe money to, to the poker community, that I will not play in the pit, I will not drink alcohol, I will not play online until I'm back on my feet and I have control of my life."
Yukon, forget it, this is over for you. A gambling and alcohol addict cannot get control over their life while continuing to frequent casino's. Once you gain control over your life, going to a casino will only set you back.
If you truly want to get better you should take the following steps:
- Immediately stop going to casino's, drinking and any other drugs you may use. Period. That includes going to the Rio for the WSOP. Honestly you should probably leave Vegas altogether.
- Attend AA or GA meetings regularly. Daily if necessary. You won't be able to overcome addiction alone.
- Get a full-time job, any job that will allow you have a steady income.
- Develop a plan to repay your creditors and put it in writing. Even if they don't accept it, even if it will take the rest of your life, repay something until the debt is paid off or you're dead.
- Don't run up any other debt. Not even $1.00.
- Start working out every day. If you can't afford a gym, exercise at home or outside if it's not too hot. Physical activity is an incredible boost to ones mental health.
- Volunteer in your community. Perhaps there is a food line or homeless shelter near you. Taking positive actions to improve the lives others is a powerful experience and I guarantee it will give you a better perspective on life.
You can't respect others until you learn respect yourself and it's clear you have quite a bit of self pity. It's a hard life when ones own self value is based on the value of your bank roll. Disconnect yourself from that and see where it takes you.
