Alcoholism... now that's an addiction I can get behind.
You seriously don't think intelligent people can have issues with impulse control?

Good luck at getting a job too. Resume? Working 9-5? That $300,000 bet he made against Ivey would take a person 5-6 YEARS to earn.

GL to all the degen poker players. Welcome to reality.

The difference is that you, presumably, did not start scamming people and running up huge sports betting losses with money that you could not repay.

Brad Booth is a thief. Why anyone would have any sympathy for him at this point is beyond me.

BB did do some unsavory things and he should be held accountable.....

My point is, after traumatic experiences people go thru mental stuff that makes them depressed and sometimes they make poor choices....

I went thru the mental issues and I made hella poor choices and I was held accountable....

I think as a first world society and a greatly communicative community that we should look at the WHOLE picture and give the guy a 2nd chance, IF,IF he does the right thing and make ammends...

even if he never plays cards or gambles again , as long as he faces up and attempts to work and pay the debt off hes good in my eyes.

The variance in life is that someone will have to wear the dunce cap because , theres a dunce cap to be worn. he scammed and stole but did he redeem himself as much as society would like ??? not yet but at least he has made an attempt...

obv no one with any real intelligence is gonna give him any more xfers to steal....

only way from here is up unless he chooses to stay in that purgatory

Right. The problem is that he's clearly not doing this. He's given no indication whatsoever that he plans to "work" to pay the debt off, and all he's done is continue to gamble.

Re: Brad Booth's Apology to WCGrider, Others, and Poker Community

Wow. Can't believe how many people are just accepting this video apology as a sincere gesture, and not the last act of a desperate man. I'm not sure which it is, but when it comes to people with "for real" addictions, gambling or otherwise, it's always hard to tell. Usually they don't even know.

Bottom line....don't support Brad Booth's habit. If he wants to gamble from now on, he has to have cash in hand. If you let him gamble without seeing money, you were in on it. You deserve your money, but you had to have known you might not get it.

Re: Brad Booth's Apology to WCGrider, Others, and Poker Community

i dunno what to think of people who say brad should get a job, whats getting a job gonna accomplish when he owes half a million? getting a job will just give him more $$ weekly thats guaranteed that he can go to the pit and gamble to pay his debts. THats just the way it is. The only way to get outta a debt this big is thru gambling/taking shots in poker. NO other legal way exists for Brad. He is a gambler he aint gonna quit, be real guys
