actually that he started with 2k repaid it and ran that up to 100k... now down to 0 ive been keeping track of him for no apparent reason for the last 6 months.

Least his tweets were entertaining unlike some others who are dumb.

Good guy he'll be back in no time trust me.

this guy is one of the biggest dbs i've ever seen. i've unfortunately been around him a few times as he has borrowed money from someone i know.

i always knew he was a pos after he borrowed $5k to play a MTT and never even registered for the MTT... he said he blew it playing full ring.

he is not a good card player. he might finally be realizing that the people who want him to play ring games want him there cause hes a sucker - not because they consider him a friend/equal.

i am glad people finally see that this loser has no money.

there is a podcast at pokerroad radio "cash plays" (bart hanson used to to that before he switched to deuces cracked).

there was an interview on it with jean-roberte last week, which was pretty interesting (he also mentioned that its quite possible he would go busto that same night of the interview, playing his case money).

he didnt come off douchey at all to me, mainly because of his honesty with regards to his bankroll and bankroll management. he did mention that he considers himself as one of the best triple draw players i believe, no idea if thats true or not.

lol I love his view on survivor:

Were you disappointed you did not win?
'Absolutely. When I made the commitment to go on the show, it was a math thing. The winner won a million dollars. Second and third place received $100,000, and the fan favorite on the show received a bonus of $50,000. So figure, a $1.25 million dollar prize pool, with an implied value of future deals and 16 contestants. My equity in the show was around $100,000, if I am an even player with everyone else. I figure myself smarter than the average contestant, thus my equity increases to nearly $150,000. The one month of misery was worth it.'

Of all the women in poker, who would you kill, **** or marry? And why?
'Vanessa Rousso, Vanessa Rousso and Vanessa Rousso. I have never, ever really wanted to kill anyone. Sometimes, I get frustrated with the success of my buddy Vanessa Rousso and I feel like I would like to kill her. I mean, it is unreal. She wins everything. If I could knock a player out, it might as well be her. She's also super hot, if you know what I mean. My apologies to Chad Brown, he is a friend of mine also. Marry? I think Vanessa would make a great wife and mother!'

I met him at the last LAPT in Costa Rica. Saw someone playing poker at the bar of the swimming pool. He was talking to 2 lesbians while playing. He seemed cool until he told em "hey you can google my name, I have a wikipedia's page". Sound douchey to me.

hes funny and his take on being a broke poker pro is refreshing.

jrb likes to:

lay bye pool
take pictures of girls butts in bikinis
play pokers
live semi-baller on a budget

i think his posts also show that poker is a tough living and is filled with constant swings of emotion. it also shows his vulnerability and acceptance of his faults. go jrb, keep on truckin.

I've played with him a few times. I always wanted to hate him, but he actually kind of amused me at the tables. Each time i expect to get into a flame war and I never have.

I hate him on TV, and did root against him on Survivor. But every time I physically see him, I don't have the hatred. Mostly Bemusement.

It's kinda weird. People I know vouch for him. I've never really said much to him though. I've actually enjoyed the times he was at my table.

Look, all this JRB hate is undeserved. He is quite self-absorbed, that is true, but he is also very personable. Hating on him for the douchey things he says to girls is also lame. He has a good game with the ladies. As for his own self-impression, he knows that people at high stakes tables like to see him at the table and not for his personality. He probably thinks that he could be the best at the table, but knows that he plays too loose. He is also very honorable both on and off the felt. He has a strong belief in fairness at the table.

I think it is really easy to get a bad impression of him if you don't know him. You see a guy who is living a semi-baller life getting attention from cameras and girls and you think "this isn't right. The guy isn't good at poker at ALL!." He DOES say a lot of douchey things, but if you know him a little better you put those douchey things in a different context. I'm not friends with the guy by any means, but I've played enough poker with him to change my opinion of him dramatically.
