By the time they need to make their next installment payment, they seem to expect to be operating in the US, be it in a few States or Federally, and if their newly acquired patent on fast fold poker is approved, any casino wanting to offer slot-machine style i-poker kiosks will likely end up paying them licensing fees whether they use PS/FTP software or not.

Makes me almost feel bad for GBT.
Not me. They should have ponied up the money and paid back all the players. They tried to skirt around doing that, so **** 'em.

Congrats to everyone getting their $$ back. Super happy for everyone, hope the US repayment process goes smoothly.

So, I've just received my temporary residence/study permit in Canada, and will have a new Canadian address this month. Does anyone know if my USA Full Tilt account will be deemed ROW, or USA?

Will FTP allow players like me (US players who moved abroad) to start using their accounts (and funds) as soon as it relaunches?

Q: I understand that my status as a US or RoW player is based on the address in my Full Tilt account as of June 29, 2011. Is there anything I can do to change that?

A: No.

Re: The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?

quick question, not that I care or anything but I had a FTP account like 6 years ago where I deposited few hundred dollars and lost. That account was under US address when I came study master program in the US, but I'm Taiwanese citizen. How's doj going to treat my account? Are they going to refund my deposit? or they are going to treat that as foreign acct?

Pretty sure you'll have to apply for remission through the US gov't.

At this point, no one really knows how the DOJ is going to handle accounts and what the procedure/payouts will be like. However, up to this point it is assumed that only balances will be paid back to players. So if you deposited a few hundred dollars and lost it all, you will most likely not see anything in the form of a refund.

Re: The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?

I suppose the BIG QUESTION is...
Will the DOJ (and PS/FTP) just look at your balance as it was on BF, or will they try to figure out which of your deposits had actually cleared, or worse yet, which of the deposits of the people you won money from cleared... (which seems like a ridiculous task, as they would then have to keep tracing it back to see which deposits of the people THEY had won from cleared, etc.)
The only fair way to do it would be to base payouts on the actual balance as it was when they shut down.
(I wouldn't be surprised if they partnered with IRS to withhold taxes and withhold payment if you currently owe the IRS anything).. lets hope they won't have the resources to waste time going into that type of detail.

Re: The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?

They wouldn t take it to the point of which of the deposits of the people you won money from cleared. That money is gone. But what they could do, is a phanthon depositor who doesn't have the funds on FTP to cover deposits, well, they may check pokerstars and see if they have an account there, possiblity of taking funds from the PS account to cover the short fall at FTP
