I know I took a lot of crap over the Scott Matusow stuff (rightfully so) so I would be willing to have someone that I know, that I trust that has credibility in the poker community confirm that my sources on the stars/ftp stuff are indeed legit.

Only person I would trust with that is Dan Druff but he's banned here.

I'd place a bet on this purely because it's kind of (small) insurance, at this point, I've basically written off my FTP balance. So how about, if there's no announcement similar to the one you've described this week, you ship me $100 on stars, if there is, I'll ship you $110 on FTP as soon as they go online?

Even if Chinamaniac's source is correct, it doesn't mean there'll be an announcement this week. I would expect it to be delayed, just because that's how these things usually go.

If I had to guess, it seems like a tantrum/stunt on his part. I dunno. From the beginning with GBT, he's always been very careful to phrase things in such a way that his requirements are absurdly specific (for example with Tapie's offer to hire Pocket Kings Staff: He only agreed to do it if all senior PK staff came along. What are the chances that actually happens?) so that way when one little corner case of his ultimatum/deal/offer/whatever isn't met, he can walk away.

I mean, I can offer to get a tattoo of Howard Lederer's forehead on my face, and I'm at zero risk if I just say that every person who posted in this thread has to send me a PM telling me to do it. It just won't happen.

That's an even better bet imo. There's a much greater chance we hear an announcement next week than there is exactly one year from next week. ^_^

Chinamaniac gets some crap from you guys, when all he is doing is trying to help by sharing any info he has. Personally i favour rumours of things that are about to happen rather than the "nothingness" we are going thru.
I wonder if as many of you who flame him, will be as quick to thank him once the news does break on the exact week he said.

I think if you kept up with the news, you would discover that the casinos you mentioned have already partnered up with other companies. And these companies did NOT operate in the US post UIGEA.
