While this seems unlikely, Maybe PS is betting that them controlling FT is +ev in the long run and or they believe buying FT and replaying players will give them good will with the DoJ and other entities for a re-enter into the US market when that time comes. if so, PS playing some high stakes poker now.

Oh, you big tease!

Does part of the (alleged) (not to be disclosed) deal include anything (potentially) for U.S. players?

One second....Will both sites be run independent of each other? Will FTP2 keep rakeback etc? This is all too much!

Not enough tissues to clean up all the mess in here LOL
04-24-2012 , 09:37 AM

Lots of car companies operate under the same umbrella ownership (dodge-chrysler-jeep-eagle for example, or general motors with all their different brands). I could definitely see these 2 companies still being largely separate, with occasional/regular cross-promotions.

Kinda surprised I never thought of it before, but yea, could be a pretty savvy move for Pokerstars.

(i dont really care if this thread is a level or not, its still an interesting idea)

I hope it's true.

Everything that's happened in poker in the last year, I'm ready for the scene to turn around and this would definitely be a step in the right direction.

this thread is so tilting on so many levels, theres NO way it happens. im assuming when nothing happens today and tomorrow, this thread will be closed?

my main concern is stars re-opening to the USA market, which many highstake guys have said, and even daniel negreanu said it'll happen soon.

I'd just be thrilled if PokerStars came back online in the US pronto. Adding FTP would just be another thumbs up.
