Expect to see the former Eagles wide receiver as the so-called "millionaire" looking to be fixed up on an episode of Bravo's "Millionaire Matchmaker," for which he was spotted over the weekend shooting a date scene at New York hot spot lounge Polar, inside the Marcel Hotel at Gramercy.
Bryn Mawr poker pro and millionaire, Beth Shak taped a date at the Borgata for "Millionaire Matchmaker" recently.
Local comic Rod "Goat" Sperling also shot for an upcoming episode.
A woman who wanted to meet a comedian enlisted help from the show's matchmaking host Patti Stanger and Sperling was among a dozen comics who met her at Caroline's in New York.
I know the article is mainly about Freddie Mitchell but I did a little research and found this on a forum...
There was also some drama at another table. I only have hearsay though, so this is what I heard. 3 hours into the tournament, some film crew shows up. We are all baffled as there’s nobody famous in the field (normally Jane Gold plays, or Lacey Jones, but that doesn’t get the media attention) and all the pros are out in Vegas for the WSOP. So Hubby Mike comes over, so us girls send him over to find out the gossip…he can’t find anything out. The girl next to me is friendly with the one tournament director, so we tell him to go find out. It was Beth Shak. She’s on the Millionaire Matchmaker and I guess they wanted footage of her playing. Fine enough. Later on, come to find out that the Borgata put her into the tourney 3 hours after it started (normally, people have 2 levels to register, meaning only 1 hour after it starts b/c our blind levels were 30 minutes) and she didn’t even want to play, it was just to get footage of her playing for the show. So she comes in 3 hours late, plays only a few hands, take 2 girls out then gets up and leaves. Now, like I said, this is only hearsay, but I’d love to know if this is true. If it is true, I just lost most, if not all respect for the Borgata. They could have put her at a cash game and taped her, or the 1k NL event that day….but they put her in the ladies event well after registration was done…and into a commissioned tournament just to get ‘footage’ I have nothing against Beth Shak…don’t get me wrong. I used to email her back and forth a few years ago since I had met her at a tournament. She gave me great advice that I still use to this day. I just think that if this all went day the way I heard, it’s just wrong on so many levels.
Sounds pretty ****ty imo
