I doubt it. The only other site I see getting a licence any time soon is Unibet, for the others it's probably not worth the hassle.

That's not a reason to not take action though

Anyway that really sucks. I just hope politicians here in Switzerland won't do something stupid like that. It really isn't only a national problem though, cause with every nation that does it the player pool gets smaller, which hurts regs whether they're european or american.

If they have to be linked with a local casino, I doubt full tilt will go through the hassle, let alone find a casino that wants to be linked to them. They are still pretty shady .

well in that case that's France that wanna apply the same law as in Belgium.

Back to the topic tho:

I don't think belgium will invest on a stars.be, as said before, since we don't have that much players.

We'll see how it develops, we still have a year or so...

At the very least there should a single platform for all EU countries. This should be achievable if there is enough lobbying pressure put on. First step would be to merge the player pool of .it and .fr.

Re: Belgium wanna apply same law than in France

The first step really is to get the word out about this. We can't let the politicians who have absolutely no clue about the "computer world" do these type of laws that are clearly against the freedom of speech.

You are not that far off. Belgium was going to pass a law banning the burqa before France did, but the government fell and so the lawmaking process has to be reopened.

As far as I know, the law on online 'gambling' has already passed through the parliament, but none of the execution orders have yet been made. And because there is currently no government in Belgium (and it will probably take at least 1 month to form one, probably a lot longer), there is still time to act.
