Bad Floor Decision at Aussie Millions side event

hi!

i just played event #10 at the aussie millions, a 550$ shootout played at pokerpro tables, and just experienced the most ridiculous floor decision i've ever heard of.

The following happened: The tourney started out as normal when suddenly the screen of 2 guys freezes up and 1 other guy who late registered cant login. By that time 1 guy already busted out and of course some chips already changed their owner as appr. 15 hands have been played.

The floor paused the play on all tables and tried to fix these 3 terminals. When they found out they can't fix the problem you might think the only legitimate decision would be to refund these 3 guys. But what they did was just breathtaking: They reset the whole tournament....

1 guy dropped from 20K to 10K starting stack, other guys who already donked off half their stack got it back to 10K etc. they were even trying to get the guy who busted out already back into the tournament, but they couldnt find him anymore.

when i went up to the floor and told them they just cant do that, they just said if i want i can unregister and get my buyin back...haha, nice joke sir.

they didnt even refund the players their entry fee or anything else.

i just wanted to make public that the aussie millions tournamet staff is now officially one of the worst in the whol wide world, cause this decision is just stunning

i'll try to find out the names of the guys responsible for this fiasko and post them here later

Re: Scandal at Aussie Millions side event

I play at Crown regularly and find them to be a very competant floor making normal rashional decisions, not always going by the book and allowing angle shooters to get away with their game

I agree this is a bad decision yes, but seriously when you play the PokerPro tables what do you except, just jump on ur laptop next time

It couldve been something to do with the tables themselves, maybe having 3 seats inactive for the entire tournament would mean they couldnt correctly allocate seats etc? There are lots of reasons this error can result in the need to reset the tournament, I extremely doubt they would reset the tournament for no reason at all

As said, they are an extremely competant floor and Im sure they had a better idea of what needed to happen than you did

if they really had a good idea of what they were doing, i would at least like to know why they didnt tell the players....the 3 absent players were just on sitout btw, so the play itself was not frozen or anything.....also its a huge joke to take 50$ fee for this farce as well.....i have never played on a pokerpro table before but if they put it into the official aussie millions schedule they have to take it seriously imo

Re: Scandal at Aussie Millions side event

I've just read its a shoot out, so with 3 people with unusuable seats in a tournament where nobody can be moved, what happens?

Seems to be the only logical explanation. A bad thing to have happen but this goes with playing those stupid things

no matter what happens but snagging off up to 50% of ppl stacks without any refund can never be the best decision if you ask me

Not a casino employee just sticking up for my home ground

Its a tough spot where not everybody is going to be happy

I agree they shouldnt use these tables in an event as big as this but I guess its another way to run an extra tourni and make some $$

Re: Scandal at Aussie Millions side event

i've seen this happen before in st kitts. the casino there has poker pro tables. to make a long story short the tables suck, the software sucks and i would never play on them again unless i was really desperate.

in my case we were playing a 2 table tournament and were down to the final 3. the software crashed and they couldn't figure out how to get it going again. they couldn't even bring up our chip counts. after a while of the floor ****ing with it the players decided it would be easier to chop 3 ways.

random 2 table tourney in st. kitts /= official aussie millions tourney that awards an aussie millions ring

this incident makes the whole tourney series and the rings a joke and does put it to the same level as some random tourney in st. kitts
