Don't bother him. He's doing a lot better than most of the failed poker geeks posting here

It's kind of amazing how successful he was at covering his tracks. It used to be that a Google search for his name was rife with scandal. Look now and you'll find mostly positive/neutral results. I recall a few years ago that he sent some letters asking people to take stuff down. Maybe he hired some firms to sanitize the results as well.

Actually, OP, maybe ask him how he pulled that off.

The 'scandal' is still in the top ten results when you search for his name.
Overall his reputation was always great as a coach/video producer.
He obviously handled this 'Jose-debacle'very unprofessional and naive. But i think it would be unfair to destroy a persons digital reputation like this without a chance to 'recover'.. nowadays he's donating 5figure sums to charity.
Kinda like Brian Hastings handled the isildur-situation.. where he did nothing wrong (every professional player would've used Handhistories to analyse Isildurs gameplan) but screwed up in explaining his intentions and actions.

and obv +1 to this

no formal q and a after his talk. there was a informal little group after. I asked him about transitioning to development after the scandal. were you asked about it? did you try to bury it? he said he was asked about it, basically handwaved it away as he was 21 blah blah blah. says he hasnt played in 5 years. I wished him well and that was it.

Throwaway but I work in tech and know Haseeb.

I've searched and asked around and no article or person has ever been able to articulate to me exactly what he did, why it was wrong, what he gained, who the victim was, etc.

So what exactly did he do? Who was harmed and how?

lol at what he's been up to, this dude is slick, going from not knowing how to code to figuring out how to get a bunch of dotcoms to bid for him in a short period of time:

http://www.businessinsider.com/silic...w-weeks-2016-4

Kind of smart if he can really handle the work and hustles to keep up, but I feel like long term, is this a great strategy for a newbie?

Anyway, I do remember always liking him (and his DC vids), which is sort of surprising, because I tend to really dislike hugely attention-seeking personalities. I don't really remember his scandal SHOCKING me, although maybe if I read his 80,000 words on it I'd feel different (I was definitely out with pitchforks for tons of other scandals lol).

In real life he never came over that bad. Was always nice, polite and didn't talk that much.

Except for one time I met him when he basically had to talk for jungleman who wasn't that comfortable talking to strangers. But that was a long time ago..

Guy was one of the most respected video producers for an extended period of time; "the scandal" was a pretty big thing, involving a lot of money (e.g. the pokerstrategy deal); he's one of the better examples for somebody who made it in a different field after quitting poker.

I am all for leaving him alone since he doesn't want to be connected to poker in any way, but he certainly had more than 5 minutes in poker.

Why can't anyone ever seem to answer that question?

Ask him what the difference between 3 c*cks and joke is.

Then when he says he doesn't know, hit him with the punchline...

I heard you can't take a joke!

Look, he made mistakes. Several poker players have done far worse. Overall, the community probably forgives him. Also, I think I speak on behalf of most of us that trashing Haseeb will only serve to hurt the poker community's image and reputation. (which it probably doesn't need anyway)
