Just spotted on PokerNews...

'As the week progressed, the stakes got higher, and the fields increased as well. Thursday saw a $50,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament take place with 56 entries. Bonomo continued to run hot and chopped heads-up with an amateur player who wished to remain anonymous. Each collected just under $780,000.

SHRB starts tomorrow with a lot of action on it - would be useful to know if there's an anonymous 'decent/good/lucky/in form/whatever' player among the new faces this year.

Plus, 'anonymous' is pretty unusual in poker events - I usually only hear about such players hiding/asking to hide their identity for nefarious reasons.

I think for non-televised stuff, things can remain pretty anonymous. Good on this person for wanting to remain hidden. I see nothing wrong with it.

Surely the interesting part is that Justin Bonomo was willing to chop with an amateur, one can only assume that he had a big chip deficiency at the time or that it's a player with plenty of debts trying to stay under the radar ? Cough Chino?

Not sure all locations allow you to remain anonymous. The fact that it was a dead even chop implies the other player likely had the chip lead.
