Re: The Annual Men Playing in the Ladies Event thread.
I think it's awesome!!
Personally, I would never consider playing in a ladies event because I would not want to go thru the rest of my life in shame. But I'm gonna friggin' love reading and listening to all the bashing the dude gets that eventually takes it down!!
Maybe they should require participants to wear skirts and lipstick.

Just let them play in peace. So many ridiculous arguments justifying these idiots for playing an event they are not wanted at.
I think a whole lot less of any man that plays in the event. I'd be a lot less likely to do business with any of these idiots(p2p transfers, coaching, staking, etc). It isn't cute, it's not funny, and it makes you look like a sexist douchebag.

Re: The Annual Men Playing in the Ladies Event thread.
I didn't know where I stood on this, until I read Zachvac's points. I fully agree now, the women's event should not exist, unless it is a non-bracelet low buy in social event like $100+30 or something.
Also:
Seniors have a realistic disability. They generally can't see or hear as well, are slowing down energy-wise, and often are on fixed pension incomes. There isn't really the same argument for women to have their own event.

If it hasn't been said before, HeyN8itsDan is gonna say it now.
It's fine if they have these types of events. It's a platform for the game to grow. However, if you're going to restrict the field of competition, there should be an asterisk in the record books for the bracelet won. You nam sayin? You feel me?

Women have smaller brains than men though.

A few posters have tried to suggest the female players are comfortable with males entering their event. I think this is a serious misjudgement, particularly for those unfortunate women who get knocked out by a male player. Go and ask one of those and see how they feel.
The WSOP is supposed to be the flagship series not just for professional players to turn a profit but to advertise the game to the non-playing community. Gatecrashing specialist events such as this demonstrates an ignorance and selfishness beyond that expected from a decent person, let alone a respectful member of the poker community.

Yeah, I really don't get it either.
I just don't understand the underlying reason why men even want to play. Is it cause it's +EV? If that's the reason, well...their parents must be proud.

Re: The Annual Men Playing in the Ladies Event thread.
If your arguement for playing is that it's +EV, then you are aknowledging that the average male player is better than the average female.
Therefore your other arguement that it's about discrimination is invalid. Discrimination laws were introduced to create a level playing field in terms of wages etc. By admitting that men are better than women at poker you are argueing against yourself, and have demonstrated why there is nothing wrong with having a ladies event.
...and made yourselves look extremely stupid to boot.

You sure talk a lot of sht for someone who is speechless. Do you consider yourself a decent person, and a respectful member of the poker community, with all the angleshooting and slowrolling you plan on doing, and probably doing already?
