it wouldn't really work like that.

Player A has $20,000 on Full Tilt and wants to move it to stars.

he either risks a trade with a fellow 2p2er to get it instantly... - full tilt makes no money here

withdraws the money and deposits on stars a week later etc free of charge (it would be for me in my country).... - full tilt makes no money here

or swap between sites instantly for 2% or so? - full tilt makes money here

i definitely wouldn't bother paying the vig unless i needed it THAT DAY for a tourney etc.

Re: Andrew Roble Talks about Poker Money....

I emailed FTP about how to get large amounts on their site and they told me to wire to Pokerstars and trade to FullTilt. So thats what i did.

Re: Andrew Robl Talks about Poker Money....

The big sites should be able to do this. I'm surprised they haven't yet come up with a system especially after the legislation in the U.S. which really opens the door to a lot of people very possibly wanting/needing to use this service that the sites could offer on their own and basically have no competition now that the competitors (most e-wallets) have been effectively wiped out of the U.S. market (+ the sites could effect the transfers way faster than the e-wallets could anyway provided the sites worked together on this one issue) ..... they are letting money slip through their fingers by not having such a system.

Seriously: They lose nothing if they make it a trading situation. Player A transfers $1K to Site B. Player B transfers $1K to Site A. Site A and Site B work together to make sure neither player cheats the other and both transfers occur fairly. In exchange Site A take 1% of the transer amount and site B takes 1% of the trasnfer amount. Nothing changes for the sites ... each site has th same balance of money they had beforehand ... it's just that now Site B has Player A's money and site A has player B's money instead of vice versa ...... and both sites made 1% so in this case of a $1K transfer each site made an extra $10.

It seems like such an easy way for at least the few very big sites to make some extra money .... But it requires them to work togather in at least a very limited way. Han't happened yet ... if I owned one of the sites I would have been working toward it for a while now and I would be frustrated and perplexed as to why my counterpart was not willing to work with me and make some extra $.

And the sites should have the capability that you just put in the amount you want to trade and they can make it happen. Theoretically it could be a trade involving 7 people to make the amounts match up .... Might not occur instantly all the time, but if they can make it happen somewhat quickly than whatever.

Edit: Multiple typos .... Sorry, not gonna fix them.

How does that make it tough to follow? There's a paper trail for each and every transfer .... unlike a brick and mortar casino which often deals in cash with no paper trail.

Re: Andrew Robl Talks about Poker Money....

Well for starters this "perfectly even transfers where everything is fair and balances and birds sing to you while you sit on the beach being fanned by hotties" doesn't exist. One site would get more money tranfered to it than the other.

Think of FTP and PokerStars right now. FTP is having way more issues currently. Their customer service is not up to the same standards. If it was easy to transfer money between the two sites then I'm pretty sure there would be a mass exodus off of FTP. Everyone would know that if things suddenly got better on FTP they would have an easy time getting money on the site. So, no problems with bank transfer laws or anything.

How about the UP and AP scandals? If they were part of this site transfer system they'd have lost a ton more when those scandals hit.

How about chip dumping or credit card stealing or scamming in general. You'd end up with situations where the sites would have to work with each other to get money back when someone cheated and tried to run to another site before withdrawing.

This idea isn't worth the 3% or whatever they'd charge. That's why you'll never see it happen.

just curious, what do poker sites do with our money? is it all held in some massive interest bearing account?

Great idea, especially since Neteller/Firepay are gone. I sure wish someone could do it for Bodog. I would love to ship it to any other US poker site.

That's pretty short sighted. Lots of competing businesses band together on certain issues, and in this case, there's nothing to compete with in this sense. I don't think the ability to transfer money is going to kill any one major site... yeah, I see how a really small poker site might want to steer clear, but there's really no reason why PS and FTP can't band together on this one and make some money.
