Ian Tuason has a campaign on IndieGogo (similar to Kickstarter) and is trying to raise $10,800 dollars to get into the WSOP Main Event and film a documentary about it. So far he has raised $5,980.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/a...s-biggest-game

The problem is, you can't film anything in the Amazon room at the WSOP. Even as a videographer for BLUFF with media credentials granted by the WSOP, I am strictly prohibited from filming in there. PokerNews has paid for that exclusive right.

I tried explaining this to Tuason on Twitter, and this was his reply:

So I guess his plan is to wear secret recording devices while playing a $10,000 poker tournament in Las Vegas. What could go wrong?

So players are now seeking backers on though crowd funding campaigns? Genius!!!

Just tell WSOP before hand so they don't let him enter into the event. That would make for a better movie IMO

I'm not sure what you or zuck mean.

If you mean that Tuason is any sort of threat to me as a video guy, I don't feel that way at all. Competition is a good thing and there's room for everybody. The exclusivity thing I mentioned earlier actually upsets me a great deal.

He's actually selling pieces of himself in the tournament and writes:

"With such a deep structure that suits my style of play, I’m a favorite to at least make the money, doubling your investment. But of course, my eye is always on the big prizes - the 7-figure payouts at the final table."

Pretty much fraud imo

He's duping innocent people into backing him into the main using the front he's shooting a documentary. He repeatedly brings up a tournament he final tabled years and years ago like it makes him a good player. He has 3 tracked hendon results and thinks he's a favorite to cash.

This guy is just as bad as pokermonkey and is using innocent unsuspecting people to fufill his dream of playing in the main event. If he was soooo good why wouldn't he want to have all his action? You realize he's selling 100% of himself in this event which is something a winning player wouldn't do unless he is going to scam the people (not saying that is what he is doing).

He is saying it's a "poker documentary starring you". No it's not. It's a documentary about you swindling your way into the main.

He's an idiot and the wsop is already aware of this guy.

Sorry, but it's anyone's business when someone is asking the public for money, especially when the person fails to mention that the thing they're supposed to be doing isn't allowed and also makes false claims about the value of the investment.

The guy is probably lucky that this will get shut down before it happens, because the chances of it not being a disaster are pretty low.

Yeah, **** SrslySirious for reporting a case of possible fraud in the poker industry, we haven't had enough experience with that! What's wrong with this topic if the guy isn't doing anything wrong? This topic only harms him if what he's doing is illegal.

Guy is at best in a legally grey area and is clearly not being honest with investors. I hope he gets shut down as fast as possible. It's a pretty smart idea though, I agree with that .

How did SrslySirius even rat him out? The guy is openly telling people about what he's doing. If anyone gives this guy money they are dumb and deserve to lose that money (which they likely will). If this guy actually tries to film in the amazon room he is an idiot and deserves what he gets.

I could be wrong about the rules. Maybe a different set of rules apply to me as a member of the media. I don't know what players or fans are and are not allowed to do as far as filming stuff goes.

If it's for the purposes of a documentary, it may very well fall under the media rules, which are actually worse than I let on. You can not film in Amazon, Pavilion, Brasilia, or even in the hallways. You're designated a small empty room for interviews, and can film some things during bracelet ceremonies. One exception to the above restrictions is that you can film 5-minutes (strictly enforced) of B-roll IF you fill out a sign-in sheet and are escorted by a WSOP official.

If those are the rules he must adhere to, then it's practically impossible to do any sort of documentary on the WSOP. If not, well, maybe he's got a shot.

I can't speak for CDB, Ian*, but I don't think anyone else is claiming you are 100% scamming people. However, people often like to raise concerns even if they aren't 100% sure, as that's a difficult threshold to reach without more information. Why does it bother you so much that he would bring it up for discussion, Ian? If everything is on the up and up and it's a good investment, this thread is free advertising!

I tried searching for the Reddit post and couldn't find anything. Most of the donations are $108 from anonymous users.

Hey guys and gals, so here's the story.

Last Friday, this campaign went live. At the end of the day I had no backers. None. I went to sleep bummed out. And when I woke up on Saturday to see the same goose egg, I started to doubt the whole thing.

Then Sunday came along and I'm still staring at "$0 RAISED". How much can a guy take?

Luckily, it was a beautiful outside day so I couldn't be too down on myself. I posted the project on Reddit, forgot about it, then me and my girlfriend grabbed our bikes and went for a 3-hour ride.

After the ride I checked my phone.

This can't be right. $3000 RAISED? In 3 hours?

Now, it's at $4003.

I think I can officially call it a Reddit miracle.

Anyway, thank you so much to all my backers. I appreciate your trust and support, and you can count on me doing my best, for the tournament AND for the documentary. The deeper I get in the tourney, the more exciting the documentary, so there's a lot at stake here. I'm excited and scared at the same time. But I'm ready.

But I shouldn't get too excited yet, I'm still 63% away from reaching my goal. So remember, please share the project and spread the word. Let's get this baby rolling.

Until next time, here's a photo with me and Tom "Durrrr" Dwan after I busted him out of a tourney. He asked if he could take a photo with me and I said yea sure. *sarcastic tone*
