Alec Torelli allegedly helped steal $150,000 according to Viffer, wont respond to accusations - Page 2 - Poker News

as i see it the op is not a very good description of the issue:

-perky loses 150k to alec hu on credit.
-perky pays by dumping the money on ftp.
-viffer says that money was dumped off a backing deal with alecs knowledge
-alec claims he didnt know the money was a backers
-theres some question about whether perky was being backed when he lost the 150, possibly he was backed but wasnt supposed to play alec in that format

certainly doesnt absolve alec, but op is a little misleading.

i left out details, i gave a general outline. all the little stuff ignores the main issues which are:

- was perky backed for/while he was playing the hu match
- did alec know it was backers money
- where does the moral obligation end wrt to verifying the source of the funds

Is it just me or does there feel like there is a new scam that comes up on 2+2 every other day? There have been a ton of scammer threads recently and it is quite sad how often people are being scammed in the poker world. It gives poker players a bad name in the end result.

Viffer is right, any one reading his posts can realize he knows ALOT and has cred to back it up.

Id be willing to escrow a large amount of money and say Alec will not be on the commitie in the future as long as this Deal stays in the light and if Viffer doesnt let up his grip.

These half-baked accusations are pathetic and should be below the standards of 2+2.

All these scandal threads are more about the gleeful piling on by the crowd than actual justice being meted out.
