Scott Tom turned himself in a couple months ago. Big coincidence if that didn't have something to do with it.

Not sure I understand how the DoJ concluded it possible to use funds from Pokerstar's penalties to cover UB/AP but I guess there is broad discretion. I always thought the FT resolution made sense based on the buyout. I suppose it's possible that Scott/Hilt have parlayed their holdings into an amount that part of Scott's plea deal involves some financial penalty, which could be a factor. One wonders the percentage discount DoJ is writing down with the "pro player" nonsense.

An amount nearly equal to the full player deposits was tied up in shady processing companies. All of the company profits between 2009-2011 (maybe some $200m?) disappeared into gold, lumber and other investment vehicles likely guided from Panama. Also wonder if the AP shareholders have any grounds to bring a civil action now?

The Black Friday shutdowns were conducted under one action: U.S. v PokerStars et al. We prevailed in our argument that the DoJ should treat all funds seized as a source of remission for all victims in actions related to U.S. v PokerStars et al.

Yes, this was definitely not a typical or expected outcome for a case like this, so it's awesome that players are being made whole.

So you think Scott Tom turning himself in recently after 6 yrs was just a coincidence?

This is such great news. I was small stakes but clearly remember being in Starbucks reading news that this went down. I was so crushed because my entire poker roll was there and after I just moved more into other avenues of focus and never really put my bankroll into full action.

When I get this money (thanks PPA and anyone else who worked on this) it's 100% going into poker.

One could imagine that lawsuit would be an absolute nightmare for the former shareholders if the approriate shell companies etc. were setup. The fees for the lawyers, forensic accountants and investigators involved would be astronomical.

I wonder if they're paying out because they scored such a huge victory with pokerstars. The figures for victim remission are comparatively small and I guess brings things to a close.

I think it was unrelated. It's not like the DoJ up and decided to give back millions to poker players because of it.

What are the chances they immediately starting paying out right then the remission deadline date closes?

0%

After the deadline, GCG has to submit the remission batch to the DOJ for approval. It seemed like much of the time for the FTP remissions was the time it took (months) for the DOJ to give such approval to GCG for each payout wave. It also took GCG each time 3-4 weeks after the go-ahead from the DOJ to get the payouts completed. It may go faster this time, due to the smaller number of claims and perhaps smoother processing, but there won't be any immediate payouts.

Yup. A good way to estimate the timeline is to search "full tilt" in your email.

I see I got an email on 9/18/13 saying I successfully filled my petition for remission for full tilt. I got the money on 2/24/14.

This was first round. Also, I filed the petition on the first day it came out so I assume the deadline for first wave was likely novemberish?

I would say a max of 3 months from june 9th deadline to get cash in hand.

I still think it will arrive by july 4th but I'm a pretty glass half full type of guy.

Was anyone able to have their SSN reset? I put 00000000 initially just to check balances and can't edit it anymore.

Send them email and explain your situation. I am ROW player and did the same because we don't have SSN at all and they confirmed that my original petition is accepted after contacting them.

Has anybody figured out where to give them our bank information so they can pay? Just want to be sure I haven't missed any spam emails. As of last month, I confirmed the funds but there wasn't a place to hand over bank info.

Approvals take place all at once, sometime after the deadline. Probably some months after the deadline.
