Yikes!
Never played AP but played extensively on UB way back when. I had a nearly 6 figure balance from Aruba Classic sats back when they paid cash for multiple wins which I basically left on site forever for what in hindsight were stupid reasons.

Saw the thread and tried it with my UB login info and blam - showed the balance I wrote off long ago.

Even if they pay only a fraction I consider it found money. Thanks PPA..

Had my correct balance and everything Random question, it didn't have anywhere to put my ach info in, and I can't remember if during the full tilt process if it was during the same time or a different time. (for some reason I think there was a form emailed to us, but my memory is bad and it has been so long)

All transactions for players designated as an Affiliate and/or Professional Player are presumed to be Affiliate or Professional in nature and result in a default account balance of $0.00.....................I was not either one of them.........are they trying not to pay me back because I had over 100k in my account?.........then if I click on dispute amount it is telling me to upload documents.........what documents do I upload.......this is like my 5th laptop since bf......all I had saved on the laptop i played on was screen shots of the account balance......I dont understand.......I know nothing about how affiliate programs works and they are going to say I was a professional player because I had about 117k or so......I emailed them......I saw someone write somewhere that for some players on FTP they had a problem cause some accounts who had rakeback were tagged as affiliates......I had rakeback with raketherake, im hoping that has something to do with it......im getting more sick then I have been for the last 6 yrs....
Unfortunately I don't think it's the RB. If you click around on the FAQs, number 15 states the following: "A Professional Player is any player who earns a majority of their income from playing poker, or is known in the industry as a Professional, as approved by the Department of Justice."

In other places it says conflicting things, like #25: " What if I received no Affiliate or Professional funding from Absolute Poker?
If your account history indicates that there are no Affiliate or Professional transactions funded by Absolute Poker, you may enter $0.00 when asked to quantify the value of proceeds from Affiliate or Professional transactions funded by Absolute Poker. You will then be able to continue with the online filing process."

I had a very high account balance, I imagine there's some threshold for which you get tagged. I emailed asking for clarification, will post if i hear anything. PM me if you (or anyone else in this boat) wants to converse further via email.

Same for me, I have the correct info as I've found my last cashout-email from april 15th 2011, and I found my screenname in holdem manager. Still can't login. Didn't get an email.

That's strange. I can't see why being a poker pro would affect your eligibility for compensation. They must be talking about people employed by UB/AP as a prop or as a sponsored pro?

if that is true.....and I dont receive my money because the majority of money I made was by playing poker that is really insanity......so because I had a 6 figure balance that means I made the majority of my money playing poker and I am a professional......this is going to kill me all over again.......received my money from ftp with no issues at all I guess because it was only a 5 figure balance so I wasnt a professional.......please god do not let it go down like this....

prob doesn't help euros but if any US folks can't process their claim double check your e-mail address. it wasn't recognizing mine at first because my UB gmail account was being forwarded to another gmail account. so when i searched for past UB e-mails it appeared the latter was my UB e-mail when in fact it was the former.

How will this money be taxed? I'm not seeking tax advice, just curious

I thought they were off by 6-7K but maybe I was just optimistic. It was close enough for me. I'll take what I can get!

This is amazing news! Never thought I could actually be thankful to the DoJ, but this seems above and beyond what we all expected.

Unfortunately I'm also in the boat of being short at least a grand of my $3,xxx balance, if memory serves, and have no way whatsoever to prove it. I'm wondering if I should just file and take the loss, or try and dispute it telling them I must have had a withdrawal pending. I don't mind waiting more years for them to check into it as I'm already well used to the waiting and this is found money. But if I have zero evidence to back up my claim it might just be wasting time for nothing. Thoughts?

Edit: Does anyone by any chance remember what the max withdrawals were for various methods at that time? Longshot...

I am a US citizen and always played from the US until after Black Friday. I changed the address on my UB account in October 2011 to a Canadian address in a last ditch effort to get some funds off and was unsuccessful. Unfortunately I did not receive an e-mail and have not been able to login either. I e-mailed them and will post when I receive some sort of answer.

If any Non-US based poster receives some sort of an answer please post here

for some reason 3,000 is sticking out in my mind for checks.

i also remembered having a little less than 10,000 in my account and now it says a little less than 7,000.
if my memory is right then i probably requested a check when black friday hit that never got sent but reduced my balance.

i'm trying to get into my old email account to see if i made a withdrawal request on or after BF to see if I'm right but so far no luck.

luckily i didn't had money on those sites, but fingers crossed for everyone, who had money there!

@ international players: it's weird, that there're some mixed messages, but while i really hope, everyone gets refunded, i somehow doubt an american department cares about foreigners ... anyway, like i said fingers crossed

There won't be automatic taxing of this money, nor any reporting to the IRS of the remission (if goes the same as FTP remissions). You do owe income tax on the profit portion of the money when received as gambling income, if you didn't count it as income already in the year you won it.

For the FTP remissions, it was sufficient evidence to claim that you made a withdrawal that you never received, and provide your bank statements from the time showing that you did have any corresponding deposit. I would expect the same to apply to disputing your remission amount for AP/UB. Further documentation is helpful (screenshots, emails from AP/UB for the withdrawal, etc.), but not necessarily required for the dispute to be accepted. It likely will add one to two years until you receive your remission (you don't get the undisputed portion first and then the disputed portion later).

I am so sure. The DOJ settlement with PokerStars included will over $500M in cash. The FTP remissions have totaled about $120M. There should be plenty of money left over to pay 100% to AP/UB players, despite any extensive billing by GCG.
