I am really shocked by your email. I am new unexperienced player who is playing microstakes and trying to climb up the ladder in the world of poker. I really dont know what artificial intelligence you're talking about as the only softwares I use at all are Holdem manager and Equilab and still am learning how to use those two properly.

I am new at poker and I am doing everything the legit way on every site I have played so far. I would never violate any of rules as I'd rather not play on the site if it doesn't suit my needs.
Please try to clarify more on what is going on and why would you confiscate my bankroll without any warning?!

Same, i know nobody ever believes someone when they say they dont cheat, but this is bullcrap, the only software i ever ran was stack and tile for hotkeys and pt4 to track hands per session since they dont even allow huds on snap ( even tho tons of ppl use the illegal russian one and never get in trouble ) , and 888caption for 3 days during the trial period before i decided i didnt like it..

complete garbage, they're just banning any solid winners

I was in total shock when my girlfriend and me received the same email earlier today.
Through the day I tried to rationalize to myself what this could be about but there was no logical explanation why your email would be so threathening and harsh as I've never violated any of your rules written in terms and conditions (would certainly never try) and never recieved any warning for anything.
The only logical explanation for this would be your concern as my girlfriend and me both play on your site using the same IP address as we live together so this might be the security issue but we never played on the same tables, even on the same limit as you could easily verify with your data.
She plays microstakes (NL10 and 20) as is new to poker and I am playing higher stakes (NL50, 100, 200).

I will repeat again, we never violated any of the rules and ethical principles of your site and any other site not will ever try.

I am in poker for 8-9 years now and was never involved in any shady business on any of the existing poker sites, forums, poker coaching and discussion groups as I consider poker my job and am acting to other players, opponents, poker sites and game of poker overall very professionally.

Regarding AI that you're accusing me of, the only software that I use while playing is Holdem manager which your site allows as far as I know, and the software I use when studying is PioSolver. So, these two are allowed on almost every site and are used by vast majority of regular players, and most certanly no site is confiscating bankrolls for that.
(Especially without previous warning!)

So, could you be so kind and explain me what is going on as your support doesn't offer any explanation so far.
I just hope this is a huge misunderstanding and everything will be settled soon.

I just started to play on 888 poker, i regulary play medium and high stakes on microgaming(MartaIMrko nickname), on ipoker(MartaIMrko1) for couple of years profesionally, never ever had any problems. I was at shock, and I don't undersand how this can happen on one of bigest poker sites? Just locking account, without any evidence, without any explanation. I'm just hoping you will settle this asap.

If the mods feel like this should be contained to the IP 888 thread, feel free to delete, but i dont think that section is frequently visited by most people and it deserves more visibility.


888 has banned several accounts today/yesterday, ranging from micro -> highstakes, accusing everyone of using artificial intelligence, banning the accounts and for now confiscating the balances.

I was mostly playing snap when it ran as well as mixing in some regular tables, since receiving the email i've checked the IP thread as well as messaged other 888 regs i know, and tons of us have been banned. Myself and 5 low-highstakes regs i messaged have ALL been banned, the balances confiscated exceed 50k usd.

Also since reaching out in some group chats, i've been sent screenshots/links of other people complaining about the same thing.

It seems most of us had affiliated accounts, and most used hotkey software (allowed by TOS) but I obv cannot say for sure there is any correlation.

Some guys were apparently only running hm2/pt4.

If you have any money on the site, I would be extremely careful and honestly consider withdrawing

Yes, everyone i've spoken to has had their balances confiscated, considering it seems like everyone and their mother has been banned, it gives me hope there was some technical error and they will realize they dun ****ed up

I have to ask, what is your involvement with the others who got banned, you realise there is a direct increase in likelihood you were all caught cheating if you have contact with others who were banned.

also, i just happen to have friends who also play on 888, some of the ppl were even just friends of friends who put me in touch after i told them what happened

i play poker professionally, i know ppl who play on every site that exists pretty much and occasionally ppl become friendly and keep in touch, it's not that weird

So they say AI may be being used. And that's enough for them to confiscate someone's funds? Pretty shady if they're not certain.

People have been complaining about bots and scripters for so long now that 888 reached the boiling point. Let's just ban a bunch of players so we can say we are actively closing suspicious accounts.

Another reason to keep minimal bankrolls on the site. On any site actually.

edit- also there are already reports of 888 reversing their decisions and unlocking the accounts for some ppl, so there's a huge chance they are idiots and just ****ed up.. hopefully everyone who is innocent will be so lucky

Subbing. This sounds similar to the isolated cases of PartyPoker randomly banning winning accounts based on "suspicion".
Please keep us updated.

If possible would bet large that over 50% of accounts were cheating in some way

I have no connection to OP. Played <10k hands on 888 using HM2 and SaT. Was banned and as of now can not access my funds, but haven't received a response from 888 yet. Reason given was also that I might be using AI.

I received this e-mail yesterday. Decided to branch out and try out 888 poker after Pokerstars removed rakeback. I've never been suspected of anything on Pokerstars. I've played 2,306 hands on this account using only Holdem Manager 2 and Stack and Tile, which are both terms of service compliant. I don't know why they think I might be using AI as they didn't elaborate.

I would say I am highly compliant with terms of service of any site I play on and and I make an effort to make the games enjoyable for everyone that play in them. I've also helped uncover a bot ring on Pokerstars and iPoker, as well as cheating on MPN, some of which is documented here on 2+2.

I am also shocked by these accusations and hope this was just some honest mistake on 888's part.

Only played around 8k hands total, haven't played in 2 weeks, and got the email yesterday. Never used AI obviously!

Maybe we should start a new thread for it as it seems there are already quite a few of us in the same situation and I have a feeling there are more to come.

Not sure what's going but it doesn't sound right at all.
