Just finished listening to the Merson interview, and yeah it was excellent, started off slow, 10 min glitch in middle was annoying, and might not be as accessible to casual poker fans as some of the others, but def one of the best podcasts Joe has put out so far.

Highlights:

-He played 600/1.2kusd equiv in Macau

-Says Macau has a ton of prostitution, all the casinos there have "spas" which are effectively brothels.

-Talking about Tom Dwan and Macau This is most interesting part of interview imo, from ~50:30 - ~57:00

-Says people underestimate Dwan's skill because he plays so spewy but is tough. Also says Dwan plays such huge games in Macau that he spews in smaller games because he's used to playing for so much. Says even 200/400usd is small stakes for Dwan. Says they were playing 50/100k in Macau at one point.

-He says a few of his friends have staked Dwan for the ultra-nosebleed games in Macau "with mixed results." He says he doesn't know if Paul Phua (MalAceia, rich business guy who got arrested for bookmaking) staked Dwan, but heard that was the case.

-He says he played w/ Jungleman at 200/400, and Jungle at one point got so angry and slammed the table so hard that 5k chips went flying off the table

-Says he heard Rick Solomon (Pam Anderson ex-husband, Paris Hilton sex tape guy) won 8 figures in private LA games a couple yrs ago

-He says he's been scammed a few times. Is "90% sure" he got cheated out of 150k in private game. Also got scammed for 100k in Toronto "in similar circumstances," and free-roll scammed when he won 40k doing a bunch of 4k flips w/ a guy who deadbeated him when it became time to settle up.

-Was addicted to cocaine, adderall, and roxycodone, but has been clean from alcohol and drugs for nearly 3 years. Congratulations on your sobriety, Greg

Listened to the Greg Merson podcast last night whilst grinding. Great stuff. He's really embraced his role as a poker ambassador, he really gets it. Great guy, really open and honest. Kind of guy who's easy to root for. But you gotta take credit for making it easy for him to talk openly and freely. Well done man.
