The war against genetically modified organisms is full of fearmongering, errors, and fraud.

Every time a "faceless company" or diligent farmer selects the best strains of this years crop to select for planting next year you have witnessed genetic modification at the micro level - the carrot & banana today are vastly different & superior foods through this process. Same goes for all our domestic animals such as dogs, cats, cows etc [although some of those dog breeds aren't fit for purpose!]. The same goes for us as a species via being winnowed by disease & selected for by sexual selection.

The anti-GMO back to natural argument is being pushed by market forces eager to sell "natural" at a premium price to the gullible - all organisms today [& at all times in the past] are the result of genetic modification. Darwin rules.

I don`t think you are getting the essense of it. People in a lab attach a few "genes" from a poisonous crop to wheat for example so that wheat is not attacked by any parasites and stay heathy and flawless looking. This is what makes you ****ing sick and is toxic in a subtle way.

About GMO: Most of the modifications are herbicide resistance and insectide resistance. For insectide resistance they're using BT toxin, which is found in bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis, and that toxin only is harmful to insects. If it was harmful to humans, we would have some disease related to that toxin prior to GM crops. Herbicides only attack mechanisms that are in plants. All this bull**** about GM crops is only business, because there is a lot of money involved - _Loki_ is right about that.

My objection was to no-doubt sincere people offering health advice. Here are some great exercises Avoid meats. Not too much salt. Do way more veg. Oh, and by the way, GMO foods are terrible for your health. Mixed in with otherwise great advice from someone who sounds knowledgeable is some bogus Whole Foods marketing garbage. The scientific body-building and health crowd, right up to we hit their popular superstitions.
